cutieh Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Why do guys always ask what do u like in a man? I mean it always sounds so generic. Like as if there trying to be that man. Instead of being themselves to see if you guys click.
carhill Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 It's a conversation starter and playa/PUA technique. Just tell them you want a sub for your BDSM fantasies. You know, put out cigars on his d!ck and things like that. Bolter
CaliGuy Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Why do guys always ask what do u like in a man? I mean it always sounds so generic. Like as if there trying to be that man. Instead of being themselves to see if you guys click. So they can tailor their behavior to whatever you like so they can have sex with you. If a man isn't happy with who he is, then asking you what you "like" in a man is akin to saying "How do I have to act to get in your pants?" Bah. Insecurity at it's finest.

Why would anyone thionk that? I want to know what's important to them to see if we are a match.
littlewhiterose Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Why would anyone thionk that? I want to know what's important to them to see if we are a match. Yeah but you can find out if your a match, as you get to know the person- over time.
dreamergrl Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Yeah but you can find out if your a match, as you get to know the person- over time. yes, but by making conversation about wants and needs (to an extent), you can find out if the person is a basic match.
CLC2008 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Probably for the same reason they ask whether or not you have a tattoo..
TheLoneSock Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Why do guys always ask what do u like in a man? I mean it always sounds so generic. Like as if there trying to be that man. Instead of being themselves to see if you guys click. It's just a question, you over analysing it is the only thing that is generic here. It's akin to him asking where you like to go to eat, what kind of movies you like, and what reasons your past relationships ended. If it's something that gives you a chance to learn more about the other person, who cares? I have asked that question before, and it was in no way to tailor myself to their answer. Furthermore, any time I have asked that, the girl has asked me the same question in reverse.
D-Lish Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I never know how to answer that inevitable question. My standard answer is that I know it when I see it. I truly have dated such a wide range of personalities. I think people ask it because it's a conversation starter. I'm going to try and use Carhill's answer from here on out- I have a feeling it will distinguish between the boys and the men! lol.
tryagaintoday Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Yeah but you can find out if your a match, as you get to know the person- over time. This. Exactly!
carhill Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 OP, just so you know, I'm a man who's 50 years old and have never, not once, ever asked a woman what she's looking for in a man. I figure, if I see her again, I must have some of it. If not, that's an answer too.
tryagaintoday Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 Hi, Well, it is like as every like to know what a guy feels and thinks about her and also what a girl looks in a guy like this only guys wants to know what girls think about guys and like about guys. Thanks! huh? It's like a song by Blur: Girls and boys. "Looking for girls who like boys, who like boys to be girls, who do boys like they're girls, who do girls like they're boys...."
