So I've been dating a guy I really like for 4 and a half months (me: late twenties, him: mid-thirties). Last night we had a conversation about how he seemed a little hesitant (to me) to define our relationship as exclusive. He said that although he hasn't been out meeting other women, he moves very slowly when getting into relationships. He said it's not a reflection of how much he likes me (enjoys spending time with me, sex is great, easy to talk to), but that he feels that he's hurt people in the past so he's cautious now. Part of me thinks I should take this conversation at face value and just let things continue to progress, but I can't help but feel a little insulted at his hesitation...Opinions?

Either:

1.) hes not completely over his ex

2.) He's not that into you

3.) theres something about you that making him afraid of going all in

4.) hes REALLY afraid of getting hurt, so he will wait until he thinks you are all in before he goes all in.
