Is she a scam?

I started talking to this girl off POF but I'm concerned she might be a scam, some things that stick out:

-It took her seven days to respond to my first POF message.

-She's away in London for business and won't be back until the 1st.

-She suggested we text instead of message since she's never on POF.

-One picture of hers that I did a google reverse image search up had a couple matches, but the rest of her pictures didn't have any.

-She uses a google voice number.

-Her fb is pretty empty.

-Yesterday, she said we can talk on a call (today) while she works, but I ask her today if she can talk then basically says she's busy but she can still text.

But, her profile seemed legit with a seemingly real looking description. it's also still not banned or deleted which most scams or fakes I run into end up being.

Probably is working a couple of marks and is waiting on one of them to give her money, so she's decided to start cultivating you now

Classic scammer behavior

Classic scammer behavior. She most certainly can be on POF if she's texting--there is no difference and it's free and doesn't use up your data minutes.

-One picture of hers that I did a google reverse image search up had a couple matches, but the rest of her pictures didn't have any.

A couple of matches to whom/what? Different profiles?

-She uses a google voice number.

That in and of itself isn't bad. I use one because I don't want to give out my phone number with strangers. Having said that, yes, scammers do use google numbers.

-Her fb is pretty empty.

Probably busy working her other marks

But, her profile seemed legit with a seemingly real looking description.

Have you copied and pasted it into a google search to see how many other dating profiles are using the same language?

Usually when she wants you to leave for text might be scammer. You won't know because they're very clever. Give it a few weeks by 1 month the scammer should start to ask you for itune cards in the amount of $100. Or it might say it has issues with it's passport and it needs $1300 to get back. It depends if you get to that point. Reversing images doesn't always work today. Whoever you talking to are very clever in that department. Just be careful okay.

POF is worthless...you get what you pay for which is nothing

My GF gal friend just met a guy off the POF they both hit off I am told. Pictures look promising with her. Just hope he's doesn't turn out to be another married man ouch!

I agree that POF is trash. It's only got porn bots and scammers now. And I'm almost 100% certain this girl is fake. Although she agreed to a call.

I've met four women from POF. All real. Still seeing one purely as a dance partner.

However I agree that the OP's woman sounds like a scammer.

Yes it might be so with her, they will call you no problem to spend that big cell call on you. Whatever you put in your profile is the cut to the chase with them. let her call you and see if the number comes up +234 xxxxx that's Nigeria and not London as that would be +44 . Then again it may say a pay phone call or UNKNOWN or PRIVATE. Just be careful that's all...

She doesn't live in London, she's just there for work. If any of that is actually true. She has an American number.

They can foil cell numbers, I learned from a few of them how they do it. I hope for your sake she's the real deal USA Girl you can get to know and have nice relationship with. When is she suppose to call you? When she calls you wait and listen to how the cell connects to your cell. Tip off if you hear men talking first then it goes quiet then she comes on with slight accent. Then you know your dealing with a scammer. If not then she's real.

Does she work in gold or gem stones? Does she claim to be wealthy? I know of someone who met women who were involved in these things, away on business in a foreign country, and claiming to be very wealthy. Too beautiful to be true, too. All fake.

You'll be fine until you give your bank account info away or send money.

Granted I am naïve in the ways of OLD but other than the one image coming up, nothing you pointed out causes any red flags to pop for me. Right now, armed only with what you said I see a busy person with a demanding job who can squeeze in a text but not a call. She doesn't want to give her real # to strangers so she's cautious. There's no reason to invest in this person yet, but there is also no reason to toss them out for not being social media obsessed. Keep things light. After Labor Day ask to meet. Obviously if she asks for money, walk & don't look back. If she doesn't give you a real # after a few dates, then something may be wrong. For now, just see what happens.

So did the scammer I dealt with. Area code was about 25 miles from where I live. He was behind a computer at an internet cafe in Ghana.
