Sugarkane
My daughter is almost 2 and I've been trying and trying to make new mum friends. But I was the only one who bothered regularly going to mum groups. I've tried making new friends at school, but they're younger and childless. They're dating problems are so trivial to my problems. My other friends dumped me while pregnant. And I've made effort with old friends, only to get false promises of meeting up. My husband says because my own parents don't have much friends, they hardly helped while I was growing up (I was an easy target for bullying).
LadyDeadpool
I wouldn't worry about it. The best friends are often ones you stumble on by chance. There is also a big difference with between being lonely and simply being alone. If you aren't feeling lonely just let nature run its course, but if you are feeling lonely just keep trying to strike up conversations. You're bound to find another mom/person open to the opportunity of making another friend.
