How do you cope with having to re create groups of friends?

I had the same group of friends up until this past year (I'm in my mid 20's) and am already having to re-create group of friends. I feel that every couple of years I've had to restart over. Don't get me wrong I've kept some friends in the distant, but they've done or said something to be put in the back ground. Why is it so hard to find and keep female friends? My male friends don't act like this.

Girls can be catty. I find it easier to make new GFs through groups. One of the ways to hang on to old GFs is to get past the petty stuff. I can't think of a single dear friend with whom I haven't had one dust up over the years.
