What qualities does a person need to be a successful orientation/corporate trainer

Off the top of my head:

 

 

  • Engaging personality
  • Thorough and up-to-date subject knowledge
  • Able to explain complex ideas in simple terms
  • Confidence
  • Articulate
  • Ability to talk to all levels of an organisation from the janitor to the CEO
  • Willingness to travel
  • Gravitas
  • Patience
  • Organised
  • Ability to plan
  • People-person/enjoys meeting new people
  • Sales and marketing/networking skills (especially if they were freelance, self-employed)
  • Good reputation
  • Technical and basic trouble-shooting skills to work with presentation equipment
  • Professional appearance and demeanor (can fit into corporate culture)
