hi all

im so scared about getting caught by the police because of what internet sites ive been on. Its nothing to do with children, or unconsenting actions, because i find that disgusting and sickening.

i would say it is violent though, and has stemmed from my interest into bdsm, and just typing random things in google.

i have stopped it now, as i have recently found out about the new laws about violent pornography, and now im very very very worried. im only 20 :( what should i do? please help, dont judge please :(

please nobody put jokey things, i really need help, ive felt physically sick about it all day, im so worried that i cant concentrate :(:(:(:(:(

Police forces do not have the resources to go after individuals who are looking at porn on the Internet for personal amusement.

If you check the news stories of porn-related arrests, you will find that it is mostly about "rings" and "syndicates" who are making and distributing porn.

Other cases involve individuals who are suspected of, or known to be, preying on children.

Research it properly, so that you can stop making yourself sick. In your jurisdiction, what, if any, is the potential for you to be arrested for looking at violent porn? (Chances are that it is slim to none. But for your own sake, make the effort to find out and put your mind at ease, once and for all.)

If you're worried, go to encrypted newsgroup access; plenty of BDSM stuff on UseNet. I wouldn't be concerned unless you're personally committing violent acts as part of sexual rituals.

If you go to UseNet, view only and don't store anything locally, you shouldn't have any issues, regardless of jurisdiction.

I agree with all of the above - only one point to note - please tell me you never looked at that type of stuff from a work pc. If so you could still be at risk.

thankyou for your replies. i went for a walk in the rain in a tshirt and i think ive given myself pneumonia but i probably deserve it :(

ive stopped looking at things now, since a few days ago, ever since i found out that as of (i think July 2007) that looking at violent porn in the UK was illegal, at least thats what i got across from it.

im 20 years old, i dont want to go to jail, im not a bad person :(:(:(:(:(

i have NEVER looked at it at work.

ive cleared my internet history, ran disk cleanup, anything i can think of. im even thinking of getting my computer electronically wiped or just getting a new one :(

why have i been so stupid?

You aren't stupid, you are curious, or intrigued. Had you looked at that stuff at work, THEN you would have been stupid.

You've stopped, so don't worry about it. You are fine.

thanks curiousnycgirl, you have been a real help :)

but i have recently started freaking out about it all again.

i assume you're in america from your username, and i dont know if you know (because i didnt until a few weeks ago) but looking at violent porn on the internet became illegal in the UK from around July 2007 from what i can work out.

I got my computer wiped today, and havent looked at that stuff for weeks now.

Im just so scared of being sent to prison, im a 20 year old girl and i just couldnt survive there, im the quietest person ever and i would never want to hurt anybody :(

What i looked at was purely fantasy based. I'd never want any of that stuff done to me, or to do it to someone else :(

I feel sick again, i just cant stop thinking about it, like the police are gonna knock on my door and take me away, and itll be all over the news and ill become this pervert that everyone hates :(:(:(:(

some may think im overreacting, or whatever, but i really dont think i am.

i just want to kill myself and then i wont have to go to prison :(

It was proposed in 2007 that it should be illegal to distribute or posses violent pornography in UK. But it has not been passed into law yet, they are still working on the language of the bill because it is too broad. No one is being prosecuted for this at this time.

Please stop worrying. Just don't do it again so that you will never have to worry this much again.

Oh I never said we weren't, but the people looking at what we are doing don't have authority to act on anything that is not terrorist related.

So you can search for what ever you want, just don't start sending emails to Ahkmed about blowing **** up.

Oh, but isn't this a violation of a people's democratic rights?

Perhaps but the difference is, a terrorist planing to bomb something has a wide impact but a guy looking at hardcore BDSM has a small impact if any.

Anyway - I never said Bush was a good president, if anything I think hes a moron. I personally would rather have my country stick to it's constitution and have every city bombed within it then sacrifice the principles that it was based on. America without the constitution is just some other piss-hole country.

Too bad not many people have my view.

As far as I'm aware, BDSM is still legal as a form of sexual expression - I doubt they're going to make just looking at it a crime. Honestly, I think too many are in 'the lifestyle' to permit that to happen.

You should hear about some of the stuff that's legal in the European countries - makes BDSM porn look positively tame. (shudder)

I'm more concerned that you're worrying yourself sick over this. What are you viewing that it would cause this much anxiety?

-pde.

Not at the workplace! I know that! The

only thing a place of work cannot record is phone conversations without special permission.

Be careful browsing! I work in the health field, and every hospital I visit has EVERYTHING recorded by the network (and they read and laugh at the personal stuff, but thats another story).

If you ask them, they deny, but my friend dated a network guy and believe me, they are told to deny if asked! THey do this to protect themselves from lawsuits, etc. And its so easy to trace and record! They know what pc it came from, when, etc.

How about that Detroit mayor that got busted? By his TEXT messages!

Screw that! I only post my personal stuff from home!

Cheers!

BDSM is bondage, right? If so, you cannot have a subject tied up and display sexual intercourse at the same time! Many states consider that rape!

So be careful!

thanks everyone for your replies.

i dont think im looking at anything ultrabad, and i would never look at anything that i thought wasnt consentual. I dont really wanna describe it here coz everyone might go 'ew you're disgusting!' But i never look at anything with under 18's, anything that might not be consensual. Im not like that.

this is what im worried about though, because now i dont think it even matters IF its consensual. Its just if its violent, then thats it. Its illegal.

My level of anxiety is just that 'what if ive looked at something and its illegal?' 'what if they arrest me?' 'what if i go to jail?'

once i have something in my head that im worrying about, then i cant stop. i worry so much about everything, from that i havent sent an email for work and now i cant do it till monday morning and itll be late, to omg ive looked at violent porn on the internet and now im going to get beaten up in jail :('

I was always under the impression that as long as it was 2 consenting adults then there was no probs no? even if one was tied up.

Yep. Unless they can prove an actual rape occurred, it is completely legal. Even if it is advertised as rape, it normally isn't for real, just two people (or 10, depending on the theme :p) doing their job.

Well, I don't think that anyone can prove that it's not consensual, especially if it's produced by a company - on the back end of such videos, they'll usually have a copyright like "Copyright 2008 by XYZ" or whatever. That's a good indication that it's all above-board, as they're making these things for an audience.

Now, if you're talking violent like putting eyes out or slitting throats or something, then yes, I'd say there's likely to be a problem with that. But if it's things like spanking, or pinching, or tying people up in intricate little rope patterns, I don't think that it qualifies as 'violent', at least not in the way that you're thinking. 'Violent' could be anything other than missionary position to Suzy Creamcheese next door, or it could be what I've outlined, or it could be more than that. It's in the eye of the beholder. It's why pornography and obscenity laws differ from state to state and country to country.

a-sweetart has already said that it's not illegal to view it where you are - yet. Until it is, I would stop worrying so much about it. They're not going to haul you off to jail, okay, I would think the UK police force has a little more on their minds than arresting folks that like to watch bondage videos, no offense.

You need to stop worrying yourself sick about it. Just put it out of your mind, as much as you can, and if it bothers you this much, as suggested, don't watch it anymore. But I'm telling you - there's nothing to worry about. Even if you were to keep on doing it, there's nothing to worry about. It's still legal. Do it until it isn't. You know?

Here's what wikipedia says about what is legal in the UK.

United Kingdom

The sale or distribution of hardcore pornography through any channel was prohibited until the rules were relaxed in 2000, however the rules are still quite strict [2]. The possession of pornographic images for private use has never been an offense in the UK. This means that UK citizens have always been able to access content on sites overseas without breaking any laws, except for child pornography.[citation needed]

The Government announced that it plans to criminalize the possession of "extreme pornography" [3][4], including realistic depictions of violence, and whether or not the participants consent. This follows a campaign by Liz Longhurst after the murder of her daughter Jane Longhurst. Many individuals and groups oppose such a law (e.g., Backlash).

Internet service providers started the Internet Watch Foundation in 1996 to watch for pornographic content that is in violation of British law and report it to the police. The web filter Cleanfeed is used by the largest ISP BT_Group to block sites on the IWF's list which includes sites that are "criminally obscene" as well as child pornography. [5]. The government ordered all ISPs to have a cleanfeed system by the end of 2007.

Thats what I thought thanks coco for some reason this thread reminds me of the movie 8MM.

But in that I think it was proven that a sex tape was real interesting movie.

Anyways sorry for going off topic but I agree poster #1 you need to relax theres noting really wrong with most of the stuff.

Long as its all fantasy played out by consenting adults after all I bet half the police force is using hand cuffs and I don't mean during their working hours lol ;)
