like button issue?

Sometimes when I click like the word changes to unlike indicating that I liked a post. Sometime it just blinks & stays written as like.

Why doesn't my click produce the same result each time? Does the other poster get the "like" from me when the word doesn't change?

Please clarify.

When you like a post the link will go to unlike, the other poster has received the like, but once you navigate away from that page and then return it will revert to like again, but it remains registered.
If however you return to the post and like it again you will find it stays on like and the other poster will have that like removed.
If you again press like it will go to unlike and the poster will receive the like.
As long as it shows unlike before you leave the page, the like will be registered.

You will have already liked it previously.

I liked it better when the 'like' was publicized for all to see.

I guess the function changed when LS changed servers?

I had some trouble with it yesterday for the first time. It just didn't do anything when I hit "like". I navigated away and tried again and got it to work, but it wasn't doing right.

Likely, it's just a glitch. I'm not saying that I won't but I haven't had that problem. I'm just glad they got the crash fixed the other day as quickly as they did. Went down in the middle of a thread I was trying to answer.

Agreed with the first sentence. Plus very few posters gives like anymore so itís like that feature disappeared.

Second sentence, I think Paul the (mostly absent) owner of the place changed it purposely and it has nada to do with the new servers.

Haven't experienced this one yet but with all the other glitches with the like system it doesn't surprise me that there is a new hiccup.

What browser are you using? We've had some glitches specific to Firefox crop up. (Line spacing glitch)

I'll throw a few likes around and see if I can reproduce. If you PM someone that you sent a like to and it glitched they should be able to tell you if it went through or not.

To test I sent likes to D0nnivain and Shanex and they both switched to Unlike.

After reloading the page they changed to say Like but clicking on them again the button blinked but did not change. Clicking it yet again it would now change to Unlike.

I am guessing that is what happened to you, you tried to like something that you had already liked previously but Unlike wasn't displayed due to a page reload. Part of the like glitch.

To confirm, I clicked both likes again and only re-clicked D0nnivains so Shanex should not show a like from me but D0nnivain will. That's how my Likes sent is showing right now.

I received the like. Thank you Tristan. I will like something & PM that person if the hypertext link doesn't change.
