OLD Long-term & New Friends?

Can someone explain what the deal is with women who put on their OLD profile that they are looking for long-term relationships and new friends?

Are they hoping that if some schlub fails the boyfriend test, they'll at least get a FWB out of it?

Or are they just hoping to friendzone guys and keep a few orbiters around?

It's a poorly worded attempt to say they want serious not casual. They are open to going slow but want some sort of foundation rather than a fling.
