*sigh* lonely, but not really motivated to date

Recommended Posts

I still miss my ex. Need some time. That much was clear when I did meet someone I probably would have been interested in under better circumstances.

I want the relationship I lost back. I want to feel that way about someone again and have them not be lying this time when they return the sentiment and integrate me into their family. My friends are all married and I'm just going around and sleeping with various women to curb the loneliness.

It took forever for me to get over the last girl I felt that way about. I'm 27. I don't want to wait another couple years and maybe meet someone special for the slim chance they don't freak and bail this time around.

How did you all manage the time between relationships?

Hang out with some friends or try to make new friends. Spend time doing active hobbies that give you physical exercise. Balance. Do things you enjoy. Get on with life. I mean, IF you were still with this person, what would you two be out doing? Go do those things. Don't wait for a mate to live life. If you have too much time on your hands, get a second job and sock some money away. Maybe move someplace with a backyard and get a couple of rescue dogs. There's plenty to do without an SO.

I take really long breaks in between relationships and really enjoy me time, I feel its a good time to evaluate where you are in life and start mapping things out again.

I'm surrounded by lots of good people but I actually prefer to be alone most of the time. Lots of the things I enjoy, I can do alone... read, write, learn, cook, paint, photography etc. So I don't always need company and am fine to be alone with my own thoughts. I'm not suggesting to isolate yourself but it's always puzzled me why people struggle to be alone when there is so much to enjoy.

Life isn't all about finding your +1, many people don't find that someone so that doesn't mean they should put their life on hold. So Preraph is right that you just have to get on with life.
