in this scenario

I'll keep this classically brief.

1: Went out with two backpackers in the last two weeks, both I enjoyed spending with for the following reasons

: far better looking than the ladies I can get here, which is essentially none

: far more knowledgeable and easy to talk to

: far less apathetic

: much friendlier than local ladies.

Sure, I cant move somewhere else but do I explore the "tourist" market more based on those findings even though its hopelessly impractical but enjoyable to spend time with likeable people.

After meeting these two the choice on dating sites seems rather poor.

Or do I just keep muddling through local where I haven't had a date in many, many months and have few prospects at all.

Seems like an easy question to me. Why *wouldn't* you be spending time w people you like and connect with, over people you don't.

If you connect so well with people who are coming from somewhere else, then you should be keeping on focusing on meeting them.

Sure, I cant move somewhere else

Why not? People move all of the time.

Anyway, people on vacation are friendlier than people not on vacation. Don't let this mislead you too much, that the grass is really that much greener in this other place.

Where in the world are these ladies from? Is there anyplace closer that has a large immigration population of these ladies?

Irony, all are from the US and I have to be honest, yes I have maybe met 5 or 6 they were infinitely more likeable than local ladies.

Irrespective, its nice to meet likeable people.

In recent weeks I have heard so many stories of people travelling and suddenly staying for longer because they found somebody. Be that a 55-year old mechanic that towed my friend's car or a lady who travelled in her 20s about a decade ago and never had she thought she would meet somebody that would make her stay.

You should always stick to people you like because you never know - one day somebody will like you back even more and then the rest will be history :D

If it works for you, go for it!

Also, have you considered travelling yourself? Maybe on a tour group? There are great opportunities to meet a broader range of women if you try something out of the ordinary.

Extensive work commitments unfortunately don't allow for that idea as lovely as it sounds.

Wished I had done this in my 20s, then again I wished I had done a lot of things back then.

If you are unmarried with no dependents, then you have similar advantages to those travelling in their twenties.

In ten years from now, you will look back and realize that you were still young in your early thirties. Don't make the mistake of thinking all the doors are closing for you now. You're entering your prime.

I have a feeling that if you wanted it enough, you would find a way to make it happen. Even if it took months to plan and give notice to your employer, it could be done.

I really hope you find a way. It could be life changing.
