Are you out there?

Are you out there, my love? Are you near or are you far?

Are you alright? Do you need help? I can jump in my car!

Let me move these mountains for you, let me open the door,

Let me make you smile every day and be the guy you love more!

Are you out there, my love? Are you still drinking the wrong wine?

The smile that escapes when you embrace me and hug me until problems are fine.

The moan that passes your lips because you can't take your eyes off of me,

The brightness in your eyes when reading my texts which you try to hide miserably!

Are you out there, my love? Do you need advice or do you just miss me?

The constant texts that I get because you can't stand being just you and not "we".

The constant calls for advice because you value my opinion so damn much,

The constant calls for help just because you miss me and want me around to touch!

Are you out there, my love? Send me a signal that you're there!

Being single is fun, but with you, I'd much rather be a pair!

I want to have deep conversation with you, then overpower you in bed,

I want to make you feel powerful and powerless all at once, I want to be in your head!

Are you out there, my love? I think that we're wasting too much of our time!

I'm looking forward to solving life's problems with you, even without rhyme.

I want to be in public with you and notice you only have eyes for me,

I want the lovey dovey stuff like you too, but I need it unconditionally.

Are you out there, my love? I really would like to know if you're there.

I want you to miss me so much, you can't keep your hands out of my hair.

I want you to miss me so much, its actually painful and hurts a bit inside,

I need this from you, because I want to reciprocate everything you do in stride.

Are you out there, my love? Can you handle a slightly unhinged guy?

A guy who will go to war for you, but break down if he see's you cry?

A guy who would drive 10k miles in hopes to spend an hour or two with you?

A guy who would secretly break his bank just to be able to see you when you're blue?

Are you out there, my love? Is marriage everlasting just a fairly tale now?

Am I crazy for wanting what everyone seems to be discarding after fouls?

Am I delusional for WANTING commitment, but finding mistresses instead?

Am I insane for continuing to look for this while having an empty bed?

Are you out there, my love? I know you're extremely guarded, I am too!

You've been burned in the past, as have I, but I'm willing to work with you,

As long as you know, I have walls higher than you've probably ever seen,

But there is still a heart, it's still beating, you'll see it if you're keen!

Are you out there, my love? Does your heart ache for the same thing as me?

Is it so wrong for a damaged guy like me to want what he can't have as free?

(Let's play guess the rhyme scheme)

It's not wrong my dear,

Allow me to make myself clear:

Your walls seem so mighty,

Climbing them is not for the flighty.

The woman of strength you desire,

Is deserving of a worthy squire.

Be her Knight, she will be your lass,

Filled with love, life will be a gas.

Meter is crucial in poems like these --

It isn't a matter of "do as you please"!

Brevity also is wit at its best

Consider the sonnet: fourteen lines, then rest.

The subject is key. Let's be honest, my lad:

Describing yourself as unhinged can be bad.

You can gripe and lament just as much as you wish

But I doubt it'll hook you an edible fish.

I can only advise you to try something new.

It's frightening for all but the heartiest few.

The man in this poem must master his soul

(In layman's terms: Life's not a race. Slow your roll!)

I bet if she's out there, she's loving her life.

You must do the same if you'd like such a wife.
