A female friend calls me "cute" and "dork"

Recommended Posts

So I met this girl beginning of this summer, along with a group of other people and we all hang out from time to time, have lunch, play ping pong etc... Anyways, this one particular girl in my group always calls me a dork, and then a few days ago, she told me I'm so cute and that she wanted to rub my cheek. Before you ask, I'm not interested in her at all beyond casual friendship, but I'm still kinda curious to know what she means.

I always hated the rare times I was called "cute". It felt so condescending almost like they saw me as a child. Ok I'm "cute" but you'd never date me though.

When you ask women to describe The men they're sleeping or want to sleep with that word is never used, it's almost always hot or sexy.

It's hard to say without more context, how old are you guys? What's the size differential between you two? Does she respect you?

What's your general standing within the group, and what's hers? Do any of them rely on you for anything?

There's a difference between cute as in "sexually attractive," and cute as in "adorable like a baby or a teddy bear that I feel no attraction towards, like something totally emasculated and non-sexual that I see as a toy to amuse me."

She might like you and her names could be a way of trying to prompt something out of you, but my guess is, seeing as how you have to ask, it's probably the second kind of "cute," the more demeaning one.

If you want her to stop, you need to earn her respect somehow. You can do this in a variety of ways, like: standing up for yourself, doing it back to her, not worrying, showing confidence, asserting some dominance, kicking her ass in ping pong, doing something practical and useful for the benefit of the group, doing something inspiring, lifting a heavy object in front of her, etc. I know it sounds primal and cro-magnon-esque, but that's really the way the brain works on a biological level.

Yeah, I rarely say this but I think she might just be a bit of a tease and enjoy yanking your chain, so good thing you don't want her anyway. Why don't you just call her something back and let her know you're not falling for it.

When she says She wants to rub your check tell her she can rub your Johnson. That will clearly indicate your are not up for playing games and better understand her intention.

Yeah no, do that and you'll be kicked out of the group for being that disgusting creep nobody wants to be around.

It sounds like she's flirting. Could be something, could just be for fun. Enjoy it but don't lead her on.

That hasn't been true in my experience.

Most women that I know call guys that they're interested in "cute".

man, cute implies nothing but good.....theres no sexual overtones but it means you are good to look at..cute to me also says there's personality there.....like he has a really cute smile....you cant not love cute...cute is what you want to have around...sexy is temporary

cute is preferable than being seen as sexy in my mind.....both fro women and men...sexy means walkign vagina and walking penises.....that image is hard to burn off......but cute...i see....fluffyyyyy and fluffy is smiling...lol...

cute makes me smile..i fell in love with my english teacher when i was a teen......nicknamed him fluffy....and he was....cuuuute......very tall but cute...awesome smile...good manners..attentive....driven.... deep intellect with a sense of humor...the best english teacher ever.....made my heart skip beats..very cute.....cute is a cure all for depression..trust me.......deb

Doesn't sound like she means it in a romantic way. They ways you say she's saying it to you sounds normal. Girls say that about guys all the time. Also, if she meant it romantically she wouldn't have called you a "dork" as well.

I've had a girl do something very similar to me in the past. She'd want to go to lunch with me and she'd say stuff like how she liked me face and would touch it and stuff. I found it uncomfortable because it was obvious to me she was just trying to get attention.

Unless you've omitted additional detail I'd heavily inclined to say she's not interested in you romantically. She's either teasing, wants attention. It's really not the sort of things girls do to guys who they are genuinely romantically or sexually attracted to.
