Talking to girls at work..

I work for a very private professional company which is dominated by women. I'm also hopelessly single and I feel like they can all smell it on me. I try to be friendly and talk to girls my age but it never goes anywhere. I end up feeling like a creep whe my attempts at connecting go unreciprocated. How can I better connect with these women to form connections and possibly relationships? My current attempts are leaving me empty and sort of unwanted if I try small talk sometimes.

I would avoid working relationships, especially if you are based in the same office. On paper it makes a lot of sense but the reality is if things go wrong the risks are high of unpleasantness spilling over into the workplace.

My suggestion, use the office to gain confidence.

Yeah, in general, but depending on how casual the environment is and whether or not you really value your job, don't try to date at work. It's too many problems afterwards, no matter how it goes.

And the reason it can be creepy and unappreciated at work is because the women who are not interested, you have just FORCED to politely decline your offer or be vague so as not to be impolite to a coworker, because it is our obligation to be nicer to people we don't like at work than we would ever be not at work. So it puts them in a bad position, and they will not like you for it.

Too many options outside of work.

Got a crush there or something? Try to squash it. It'll be good practice.

I feel it depends on your ultimate intentions. Are you looking for a eventually serious long term relationship or just some fun looking to get with a girl short term.

Yeah, man. I am head over heels for a girl who was pretty recently divorced. I feel like we are perfect together. She really likes to laugh and joke and I love that too. I texted her yesterday and we talked briefly. I think she likes me too, but she may act like that with everyone. It's hard to tell. She is so cute and mature.. I love it. Truly long term potential if she feels the same. I just can't ask her out or anything without totally feeling like I'm cornering her. I think women can tell if someone likes them (right?) so I can't imagine she doesn't know already. I'm not very good at hiding my feelings. I just feel like I have to wait for her to make a move on me which may never happen.

She has my number and I re-opened a dialogue yesterday. I'm just kinda waiting to see if she texts me out of the blue again and wants to chat.
