How to open?

I saw a girl in the supermarket.

Options

(A) "Hi, I thought you were cute and wanted to say hi".

Makes me seem desperate. Makes her uncomfortable.

(B) "Do you know where the yogurt is "... transition to "I think you're cute".

This would show dishonesty and a lack of confidence.

Question

Which is better? Especially for someone incredibly nervous who will almost certainly botch the delivery

Lastly, here's what bothers me most. She'll be uncomfortable wherever she goes in the store knowing she might see someone she rejected. I would hate to creep someone out. Especially having seen the famous "Woman walking around NY" youtube video and read the 100s of comments by women saying they don't like getting approached.

Thnx

Don't use a canned approach and don't tell her you think she's cute. She'll deduce that from the fact that you're striking up a conversation. Be as spontaneous as possible... ask her advice on something, like whether to use salted or unsalted butter for baking a pie, or which brand of olive oil is the best. You'll be able to tell from her response/expression whether she wants to engage further. Mildly self-depreciating humor works (not self demeaning). Good luck.

The first thing out of your mouth meeting any girl or woman should never be a comment about her physique. Women would like to think men have more on their minds than their face, hair and bodies, though by the time we're 30, we usually know better.

I would recommend just getting comfortable with making small talk with anyone - not just cute girls. If you get good at this it will be easier to open with the cute girls.

I agree - avoid anything about her looks unless she's doing something outlandish like wearing a costume.
