Clarence_Boddicker
I met someone online & they wanna chat via an online messenger service. No idea at this point if they are real or not. I'm not worried about being scammed at all. Homie don't play dat. I'm going to make a drop account. I'm just curious, what is better about using an IM vs email then text/chat? carhill
You mean like Yahoo messenger or ICQ or something like that? Perhaps suggest Skype. I recall, nearly 20 years ago when ICQ first came around, talking to women on the other side of the world that way. I still have my original, low five digit number since I joined in early 1997. Still works. It's simple and real time.
Jessie1231
I prefer those just because I don't like giving out my number right away. I know it is easy to block a number if the guy turns out to be a nut case, but what worries me is that he will look up my name, address, etc with my phone number and I would rather some guy I don't know not have that info. I had an incident last year with a guy I had two dates with, and after that I'm much more careful about letting anyone know too much before I've met him a few times.
Author Clarence_Boddicker
Yeah, Yahoo. I dislike mainstream email accounts as they mine for too much info. Wouldn't a texting app like Kik be more efficient? I'm a bit of a Luddite, so I'm not up to speed with tech.
