I wonder if there's a pie chart out there dividing up "kinds of people online"? One that I think some don't consider though is the one who throws up an online dating profile in a tizzy because they are on a "break" with a current, long-term boyfriend.

I actually knew a woman in real life at work that did this. He always came to visit her at work, but apparently they got into a skuttle recently and were on the outs. Being the opportunist she is, she jumped on Match during her lunch break and her female co-worker was watching along.

Of course, they wound up getting back together after a few weeks of "cooling off" and she left the account in the breeze and it made me wonder how we always hear about these people we try to get to know disappear like a fart in the wind....I am thinking this what mostly happens.

I've heard people say, "They are married" or "They have a boyfriend they don't want to tell you about"

But the FOLLOW-up TO that...is the fact they got into a fight with said sig. other and used online dating as a life-line of sorts.

Anyone can concur here? Perhaps you know someone in real life that had done this?

Lol this is kinda funny.

I've created online dating profiles while on "break". I wasn't serious with the profiles at all. I just needed to know that I was wanted elsewhere...not to mention the time spent online was a good distraction from my broken relationship.

I agree that it isn't totally fair.

Please keep in mind that it's common on dating sites.
