However, barring mental defect, men are generally pragmatists so either have found out what works or are working that out. Hard to know which sometimes. Obviously, this didn't work with you but I gotta say, as a guy, we have to keep throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks. Otherwise we live alone. I might not interact with women in this fashion but, then again, women probably don't post discussions about such interactions either. They are non-events and unremarkable. This is a public board and while I am sure many are open minded I figure that some things don't need to be repeated... If its any consolation I am gagging and still not getting laid for the sole reason that I want to consider my next sexual partner as more than just a penis... I don't think I am any different to any other man or woman out there who wants to value their partners... regardless of their sexual orientation... I have had sneak peeks at man search men and women searching women and would guess the ratios are about the same for overtly sexual pictures etc. Ergo I assume the same for comments too... I actually think lesbians are getting laid less than straight people, but I could be wrong. I've just known so many who settled into friendship after a brief affair and seemed content that way. Using a condom is the only responsible thing to do. Personally, I get a complete medical / blood work up done up after each relationship, to make sure I'm clean. I am surprised that more don't to be honest. We know what spreads these diseases so why not try and prevent it? Would you go and stick your face in a vat full of ebola virus? I was lucky as it was a curable one but it did a great deal of damage before I had my weeks worth of anti biotics! The man I caught it from was a sensible sort. He however got it from his ex wife (wife no 2), who would sleep around... then passed it onto his dead wife (wife no 3), who died because her innards basically got infected so badly that they exploded from it, after the doctors missed it (after all neither of them slept around how could she possibly get an STD?!)... I was the fourth person that he had slept with and the only one he hadn't been married to. They only found it with me because my mother stormed into the hospital and demanded exploration surgery or she would create all merry hell. It also helps that I was in direct contact with several prominent people at the time and my GP was very much on the ball and also raised hell... I know it was from him as I have always been tested in between relationships. Its just what we did when we were younger. I thought it was normal behaviour with others. My last ex was a so called "nice guy" everyone loved him. I was attracted to him because there was no "danger". He was shagging around behind my back. There are 4 that I am 98% certain he was sleeping with and another that I think can probably be added to the list... Moral of the story get tested between relationships. Always use condoms. If you suspect for one second that your partner is sleeping with others don't trust that they will use condoms with the others - get checked anyway. HIV and AIDS are on the decline. Herpes, Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea are all on a very steep rise at the moment in the UK (I don't know about US)... Particularly among older 30-60 year olds. I always used a condom with my last partner (so far my only sexual partner), and would plan to use one as a matter of course unless I wanted to have children. I do appreciate the information, I might get myself booked for a routine checkup soon just to be on the safe side. I didn't suspect her of sleeping around, and like I said, we always practiced safe sex but it doesn't hurt to be sure. This was probably nearly six months ago since we broke up, but I might look into it now while I'm looking for someone new as well. What should I ask for when going to a GP?
