OLD in Telegraph or old-school shortened newspaper ads

Recommended Posts

Here's a sample of what I'm talking about (and no this isn't a critique), but more so with some discussions earlier about how people don't care for shortened profiles that label a person as lazy, is this really lazy?

"Always aspiring to grow. Absorbing my surroundings for continuous inspiration. Nature lover. Photographer. Zumba instructor. Yogi. Music aficionado. Humorous. Nerd."

She actually had some pretty good photos of herself. All 8 well done photos, but I"m seeing a lot of ads like this. And they don't necessarily turn me off.

I've seen more "shortened" or trimmed down ads, but is it best just to keep it simple this one?

If anyone here is old enough, THIS is the style old NEWSPAPER personals were like. (You were only allowed so many words in the newspaper anyhow.)

But would you respond to an ad like this or would you still think, "Lazy"? Regardless of her being a Zumba/Yogi enthusiast?

I don't know if she can construct a sentence, but at least she's told me thing about herself and her interests without using text speak. I might respond if I liked the pics.

She is used to putting profiles up on dating websites and this is her shorthand way of getting the info out since she knows men only look at the pics! Maybe I should do something similar instead of slaving over every comma in my "dating novel."
