Frustration

How the heck can I find a guy that's ready to settle down and have kids soon? It kills me that one of my buddies found a guy and did just that in 7 months. They started talking about having kids around 2 months! I'm not especially picky. I tried OLD and it seems like a meat market. No one takes time to read the short and sweet "about me" section. I thought I sparked it off with a couple of guys but they stop responding after correspondence. Maybe I'm too stoked that I snagged a date. Also, it seems I gravitate towards guys with no cars and that are workaholics/too busy.

How old are you? Why would you be agreeable to have a kid with someone you barely knew? Are you well off financially? Is that way? Just remember you're stuck with him for life once you have a kid with him. If you're in that big a hurry and have the money to have a kid, go adopt one.

I'm 26. I see others hit it off right away and I hope to have something like that. As for the money, I make ok pay. But I want a nuclear family. Adoption is not for me.

Let me put it to you this way as I've seen it on OLD come about. Some women marry a guy who is a workaholic. You know how some of those end up? They end up on OLD looking for an affair as to not change their situation.

Why do they do that? As one put it, those types are great in their career, but not so great on the home front. So they figure since the guy is married to the job, they find someone else without rocking the boat. I came across one woman who married someone who she felt nothing for, had a kid with him as it seemed logical despite the core of her being telling her to run like hell. I think that one was testing the waters.

Personally, I've never ever had any desire at all to have kids. If I wanted to, forget it. It takes two to tango, and the solo act doesn't make that possible. Regardless, don't bank on the workaholics as they're married to the job-not anyone else.

/Wave.

I'm right here. ^^

Unfortunately that said I'm 22 and am always generalised by other (older) people with regards to my age, and I don't live in the US. :p

On a more serious note however: There's no other advice I can give other than to keep looking. Eventually they'll pop up, but finding these types takes time.

Nuclear family works out for less than half the population. Things have changed due to a lot of controversial reasons.
