how can I find an online only relationship?

Recommended Posts

My 25 year marriage recently ended (almost 3 months now since he moved into another room) and I feel like I'd love to feel like I have some companionship but I don't want to rush into anything out of desperation or loneliness or just to prove to myself that I can be w somebody else. I need something to tide me over, yk? I'd like to have someone out there that I will probably never meet, but can have a fantasy about, maybe someone going through something similar to what I have.

I partly feel like if there's a way to do it, I'd like to pursue this sort of pseudo-relationship, but since stbx and I split, I seem to always be involved in a couple of fairly serious flirtations in IRL. I've had a couple that seemed like they were going to lead to something nice only to find out there was some quirky reason one of us didn't want to follow through. And right now, I'm spending some time with someone that I think I could potentially become close to, but that could be in two weeks or six months. I would kind of like to get there, but in not too much of a hurry.

So, I guess I'm wondering not only how does a person find an online "friend" but is it a good idea to do so if I think there's a good chance of finding an IRL "friend" before too long. Will I feel like I have to just ditch my online relationship so as not to be cheating on my IRL one?

I'm bumping this bc I want an answer! I can't be the only one out here wanting something like this. I feel like there must be a website dedicated to such relationships.

I established a handful of these types of "relationships" via Craigslist, AdultFriendFinders, and various kink sites.

State up front that you have no intention of ever meeting IRL and you'll find lots of guys (usually married men, looking for EA) willing.

I have your solution.

Sign up for InterPals Penpals - Make friends online and find free pen pals from around the world!

It's a website where you communicate with other people who live in other countries. You will probably never meet them unless you are willing to pay for an expensive flight. The people on there are pretty friendly and the site has a lot of users and is quite popular. You can search through the many users by age, gender etc...

You get replies generally back in minutes.

It seems perfect for your situation.
