I'm not sure if a baby face is good or bad...

Recommended Posts

So I've been told I have a baby face. Apparently I look younger than my age. I'm 21 and I would pass for 18.....

Should I be worried?

There's virtually very little actual difference between an 18 and 21 year old. Do you really notice a difference between your average 50 and 53 year old? They both look equally old to me. I'd say that you may have a better chance of aging gracefully, that's all. Take care of your body and skin.

Freshman look different than seniors

Not much you can do... grow out a beard if it bothers you.

I didn't see much of a drastic overall difference in high school. The freshmen were generally smaller, that was it.

I don't think it should bother him.

I'm personally more attracted to men who are "cute" and look younger than they are. All the guys I've really liked -- probably even the vast majority of guys I've even had a crush on -- looked younger than they are. I don't consciously seek it out on its own but it seems to be a pretty core aspect of my physical "type". Maybe it's because I'm the same way (people usually think I'm a good 4-5 years younger than I am... and in your twenties, that's a pretty big difference!).

I have no idea if overall it helps or hinders a young man, but I'd say it's certainly less important than your general attractiveness, demeanour, and personality in attracting a partner. Studies have shown that people rate those with baby-faces as more honest and trustworthy-- you might be able to use that to your advantage (though please don't TAKE advantage of it! :))

Some women go crazy for it, some prefer older looking men. What I'd say and be confident saying is that its better to be distinctly baby-faced or distinctly "manly jawlined", than neither.

IMO if you have a baby face you want to go with a sense of style and a haircut that complements it. What do you dress like?

Working out can make you lose the baby fat off your face. I dated a guy who showed me his pictures when he was 20, his face was a bit chubby (in a cute way!) but it was very "manly jawlined" when I dated him because he had started working out several times a week.

21 looking 18 isn't baby face. When I was 21, I looked 12. :p

20 years ago, I worked with a big, tough guy who had a baby face.

Have you seen that model Alek Wek, the one from Sudan who's real black? She has a baby face.

And then there was the Prohibition era gangster, Baby Face Nelson... but I'll stay off THAT street.

I looked her up. Indeed she has a baby face.

Some females have already stated that some people do & don't prefer it.

I was just seeing what the majority vote on it was.

I've been told I have a baby face on many occasions. I'm 35, but most people assume I am in my mid-to-late 20s. Of course once they chat with me do they realize I'm actually older than they initially perceived. Regardless, the highest level of compliment I've been told by women based on my physical appearance is that I am cute. Nothing beyond that, such as "sexy", "handsome", "hot". I do think I get overlooked often by women, even refuse a chance because of my baby face. So from my perspective, having a baby face is both a boon and bane. When I die, I guess I'll leave behind a young looking, cute corpse, but not a hot corpse.

Interesting. Maybe I will begin to cheat and steal, while I weave my lies.

In my case the girls that I've dated LOVED it.

But I question it in the fact that there are girls that I'm physically attracted to and don't know if that's a positive or negative with them.
