Speechless

I have never been so insulted in my entire life. I was "dating" this man, but I got really attracted to him, while he made it clear that all he wants is platonic friendship. I tried to make it work, but tension got bigger, and I felt it was best to back off. Some time passed, and I reached out to say hello. His first response was fine, and as I continued to explain myself, he turned sour on me. I mentioned that I got over my attraction for him, and that I was finally able to be a real friend, without the lusty feelings. He said that he would prefer building a relationship with someone who is more tuned into him, and does not just want sex. (???) Yes, I told him that after months, I would like to get intimate. But I never wanted just sex. I liked him. But we never kissed, or even held hands - his choice. Suddenly he wants to build a relationship?? I think this is all sour grapes, where his ego got bruised because I told him I was over him. He never wanted me, but when I stopped being interested in him in a romantic way, that wasn't okay, either.

That's a first for me, a guy complaining about a woman who was sexually attracted him. Then essentially calling me trash, when the last time I had sex was almost a decade ago. I am truly speechless!!!

well, it's rather your fault isn't it? you contacted him after he made it clear he wasn't interested in you. why would you want to be a friend to him anyway after months had passed? you shouldn't have reached out and whatever happens now you kinda deserve. obviously you are more attracted to him than you're letting on. if you didn't care you would have moved on from him, but you wanted him back in your life.

Gee, thanks! I thought he wanted to be friends, and perhaps this needs a little more explanation. He is on the site to look for friends, but goes under "relationship" and "dating". In a lengthy e-mail, he explained why he does not do romantic relationships, but he would like to have many friends. So I tried to be that one. He continued taking me on dates. As friends, as he called it. He dates his friends, boys and girls. I backed off because my romantic feelings got in the way. I returned once I cooled off. He now seems to have an issue with that, and prefers someone who want to build a relationship, as opposed to just wants sex. (WTF???)
