"I'm selfish, impatient, and a little insecure..."

Recommended Posts

This quote, uttered by many women with online dating profiles, tend to be a red flag with me, and I was wondering if this and other quotes tend to be the same with you?

Here it is:

“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”

This would make me wonder if such a woman, including Marilyn Monroe, even had a "best".

If you aren't willing to find out, you have no sense of adventure.

if you don't know - you're not worth the effort.

A piece of advice for men is to stay away from anybody with that quote. It just means loads of drama.

Yeah, be prepared to put up with misery for a time. Some men will though just to get some action. lol.

So what quote would you use to describe yourself or your attributes?

One I saw was 'Fat F**ked and Forty'.....

That's enticing for sure....

yah, Marilyn Monroe was a hactruss, you know.....

And as beautiful as she was she was also a pill popping train wreck. She was not much different than Lindsey Lohan or Anna Nicole Smith.

Omg, I've lost count how many times I've encountered this quote on women's profiles. :p

At a certain point I'm like "really ? You don't have any other quote that distinguishes yourself from the competition ?"

Doesn't matter if I message the ones with this quote, as I don't get a response back.

Isn't is just a quote made to grab your attention rather than something they really self identify as ? sort of like "Looking for my partner in crime" ?

LOL. I'm a woman and my question would be why would someone be attracted to person with such a quote. Maybe people that are into S&M or whatever they call it these days.

I'm not OLDing, but if I did, I would pick something from Tom Robbins. :p

eg. "The more advertising I see, the less I want to buy."

normal person

Translation:

"I have terrible qualities, so instead of working on myself to try and change those things to be a better person, I'm just going to make you inherit these problems. I'm too lazy to compromise anything about myself for the benefit of a mutual partnership, so if you can put up with all my non stop entitled bull crap, your prize is my continued company."

Don't bother with women who use that quote. They think that because it's a well known quote by a famous actress (and a real philosopher!) that it's an acceptable way to approach relationships. Perhaps this was the earliest sign of the "princess" mentality so many young American women seem to have these days.

Basically saying " I'm a huge selfish bitch sometimes and of you can't learn to deal with my immature behavior then you can't have me "

And I say " thank you for identifying yourself as an emotionally broken human being before I breasted any of my time on you "

I don't have a quote. ;)

You could use the quote from "Conan The Barbarian" when Schwarzenegger is asked by the Mongol General "What is best in life"?

The response ...... "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women".

That's sure to get you a reply or two from some healthy ladies ...... just don't use anything too over the top ;).

Many women will use such quotes to inflate their worth. Often what happens is these women are just a mess, loads of drama, but no real adventure. They just spend every weekend at their local bar, drinking cosmos, while sh*t-talking that they are hot sh*t. Then they spend the weekday crying to co-workers and friends on Facebook or Twitter that they are broke and can't afford to go on vacation.

It seems like you're always finding fault with women. Are there any women that you like, anywhere?

Many men try to downgrade a woman in her own mind, so they need to remember their own value. Girls and women aren't really "allowed" to be angry, or petty - we're supposed to always be sweet and understanding. I'm sorry, but bollocks to that. I still am for the most part, but I now express my feelings, and do my best to be mature about it, as I always have, which doesn't always work considering the situation I've been in. Not that I would use that quote, but you shouldn't expect perfection, either.

"A little insecure" isn't a bad thing. Selfishness can be curbed, and impatience is a pretty common trait. How many people sit comfortably in a traffic jam? Everyone makes mistakes. The only concerning part is "I'm out of control".

President Kennedy contributed to that, and yet he is beloved by many.

Yeah, and slept with the president.

You make it sound like he had nothing to do with it - that he holds no responsibility for dropping his trousers.

She is responsible for her own actions but he was responsible for his own actions as well. I wouldn't trust a man who looked to JFK is an example of how to be a husband just like I wouldn't trust a woman who looked to MM for how to conduct a relationship.

At this point that quote is cliche anyway. It's sort of a trainwreck warning sign.

There's nothing wrong with the quote.

Just like there is nothing wrong with me judging the hell out of her for using that quote from that person to represent her.

Yeah, and quite often an overly used quote on dating profiles.

Wasted.... not " breasted "

I swear to god as technology gets better, autocorrect gets worse. Lately its been trying to use grammar to predict words, but ends up changing certain words to form a completely different sentence than what I mean.

CURSE YOU TOUCH SCREEN.

When I think of OLD, a quote by Groucho Marx comes to mind... "I wouldn't want to be part of any club that would have me as a member".
