one harmless little lie

Recommended Posts

okay,

i'm 20 to start it off..

so it's new year's eve here.. and i went out with 2 of my friends.. (which are a couple). so basically i was on my own.

we went to a club, and i met an amazing girl who suits me in every way.. we had a real "click".. everything was perfect..

(btw this is the first time i get a serious positive response from a girl at a club).

we're dancing and talking and everything's going really well.. and then she asks me if i am in the army (here in israel, you HAVE to join the army for 3 years) so i said "yes, i'm a medic but i'm getting released pretty soon so i have a lot of free time". this is a lie. the truth is.. i WAS in the army for nearly 2 years.. but because of a medical problem.. i was released for 6 months..

the reason i did this was that i didnt know how to explain to her my medical condition... and that being in the army my age was "normal" (btw, there are ways to get released, like faking mental or medical conditions.. and whoever does this is considered "lame" for not serving the country) my medical condition, unfortunately is true.. (it's not at all serious though)

so, she gave me her number and all went well..

anyway, i'm writing here after i came home, and regretted what i've done.. i know i HAVE to tell her the truth.. but how?

when i call her, to just say it straight out?

i really had fun with this girl and this could lead to something good... i don't want to ruin it before it even started...

thanks in advance for your help.

hey man u need to relax a bit...i understand u want to be truthful and respectful. thats really great. i know its hard to do... ive been there. but u need to understand it is...but a little lie... it probably wont effect much. but if u beleive it will then when u call her tell her that u were not fully truthful and that u were in the army and that u were released under medical surcumstances, then say that the medical problem was that u were forgetful and had altimers... say you forgot you werent sttill in the army. NO IM JUST KIDDING. man just be as truthful as u think u should. its a little lie but if u think it really matters than tell her flat out and dont lie. there u go. im out.

No problem. Just tell her that, although you have been released...which is the absolute truth....because you are a medic and because war conditions in that region are worsening you will have to serve some additional time...which is the absolute truth.

So you have to serve your country a bit more time, that should make her proud of you.

Don't stretch the truth again, though. Learn from this experience. Lies can get you in a lot of trouble.

i don't really think that's a good idea. you're not from around here.. so you don't really know how it is... i understand that.

here, being in the army is, to most people, a good experience, but good it's over. which means, people don't like the army and wait desperately for it to be over.. although this isn't always the condition..

i also know that you think here in israel, its a warzone and everything.. but its not.. exactly. people don't run around shooting in the streets and stuff and we shouldnt leave our homes.. probably in some of the palestinian areas.. and not very often.

what i'm trying to say is that i think i just "fake" what's already happened, having told her i'm close to release...

just tell her as we go, in a week or so.. that i have been released under medical circumstances...

that way, i could come clean totally without having to lie about going back to the army because of the political situation...

she and i both know what happens here...

btw.. girls have to join the army here too...

and she's joining in a few months so...

one more thing...

as, i said, i'm not used to this type of reaction at a club...

i usually go out for fun only... hitting on girls, lying and all, not really expecting anything to happen... and in the end, just getting rejected all through the night! this was fun for me!

i don't know why.. if anyone else is like this, please reply.. i wanna feel this is normal :p

so this is one of the very few times i really hit it off with some girl... and i was being my lying self again, as i wasnt really expecting anything...

i guess im just panicking now, and after i tell her the truth everything will be alright, but as of now, i can't help to think it won't..

all replies are welcome...

(tony: great site you got here)
