inPrismacolor Posted April 12, 2009 Share Posted April 12, 2009 Hello.. So I'm having a real hard time finding new friends, and I know I shouldn't be going through this problem. I just don't understand why me?? My whole life I felt like I knew a group of people exists who I'd be perfectly compatible with. I see them all the time, but it seems it's always from a distance. I could be driving down the street and quickly see a group of people hanging outside a coffee shop thinking.. there's some.. or I'll be getting gas and a group of people stop and I'll be like.. there's some more.. They're everywhere... EXCEPT wherever I happen to be, where I spend the bulk of my time.. like work, school, wherever. I can't rely on going up to people at the gas station. Or at the coffee shop. It needs to be somewhere I can gradually get to know them. But maybe it's bad luck, job choices, I don't know.. I'm never around them on a day to day basis. I guess for one it's an age thing. I'm in my 30's now.. and it feels like everyone in their 30's has friends they've made in their 20's. I compare it to going out into space.. you need to pack all the things you need while you're still on earth.. once your in space, that's all you got. Well being in your 30's is like being in space. You need to have found, made, and stuck with your friends in your 20's to take along for that long journey of your 30's. Cause everyone I see is either in their 20's and below, or 40's and up. At least it feels that way. I feel like I just gotta roll loner style until I reach my 40's, 50's.. then I'll be in that old man category and will find more people like me. And by the way.. that whole thing of join some group, get a hobby, etc.. that don't work for me. Just trust me, I'm way too cool for those people. Just kidding.. but seriously.. should I just start hanging with a bunch of 23 year olds since I feel like we're both at the same mentalities?? That just feels wrong. But I'm dying of boredom.
