Rsvp Hell

Recommended Posts

Why can't people just send in an RSVP like normal

people? There's a stamp on the damn envelope and a mailbox

on almost every city street corner...

I mean we even put Respond by December 15th and were still

getting some trickling in AND, when we went to call around to

those people who hadn't responded, we got "Of course, i'm

coming..." And i wanna say "Then why the hell didn't you send

in the RSVP??"

I know people have hectic lives, but sh*t...They must not know how

stressful it is to plan your own wedding and get everything done.

Next time i get an RSVP, i'm putting it in the mailbox the same day

i get it, with a response.

Sounds rough. I hope you get everybody soon.

Have you heard/seen of online RSVP's? I mean I know you aren't doing them, but was just curious what you thought. We are thinking about doing them, and wondered what people thought about them. Like in the invitation instead of a response card, saying please RSVP at http://www.something.com or call 555-5555. Do you think that would be tacky? Of course it will still be plagued with the same problem you are having.

When do you have to have a final head count? Hope everything else is going smoothly? :)

Ya know, i thought it sounded a little tacky, putting the phone number so people could RSVP by phone as well, but NOW, i think it

maybe would have been a good idea. But i'm still a

fan of the old reliable RSVP in the mail thing. That way

you can physically see who's coming. It's just been such a

bummer though, because we sent them out 3 weeks before the

"reply by" date and we figured 3 weeks was enough time for people

to drop them in the mail...But we've been getting them late or

hearing thru mom or dad that, "so and so said they are coming

and they may or may not bring a friend". Oh great, that helps.

As far as the Online RSVP thing, not sure about that one...

We have some older couples coming (our parent's friends, mainly)

and they don't have email and they don't have Internet etc. So that

wouldn't work for us...I mean my parents aren't very computer

savvy either. I guess for a younger Under 40 crowd it could work.
