Genital Mutilation in Marriage

Women hate men......this isn't anything new or shocking.

Not all of us hate the opposite sex as you seem to do. And to perpetuate that belief is irresponsible.

You may not actively hate men, no. You're the other percentage that sees men as weak and you manipulate them to get what you want. Not much difference in the end.

And I *hate* the opposite sex? Not really. I just see them for the manipulative creatures they are and act accordingly.

Am I the only one who finds Sharon Osborne's "humor" and the response of the entire female audience to this story disgusting and deeply disturbing?

No, you're not.

Even the most well intentioned woman is manipulative at heart. Even if she does it "for our own good."

Carrie T does not hate men. If she did I would willingly call her out but she doesn't.

This is just typical lowest common denominator daytime TV crap. If I were a woman I would be embarrassed at the crap the networks try to sell me during the day.

Seriously though while I don't agree that all women hate men if a bunch of men on tv sat around laughing about something like this done to a woman there would be hell to pay and calls to take the show off the air.

I agree... the trouble is - it happens to women, all the time. Young girls in third-world countries are being mutilated like this every day.

Where is the outcry now?

And the majority of men in this country don't think it is funny.

The majority of men in that country don't have a clue it goes on and if they do, they could care less.

but somehow, there's always a huge furore FOR the practice, when the subject of male circumcision is brought up - which is about as unlike female circumcision as you could get. Men actually become quite defensive when people speak out against Male Circumcision. Circumcised men protest their right to do the same to their sons, too....

What a weird paradox that is....

If it was men laughing about a woman who had been drugged, tied up and tortured they would never be seen on TV again.

Have to admit, what bothers me more is to see the Bobbitt women living the celebrity lifestyle and having herself a good giggle on chat shows.

Most men above a certain age are circumcised. It's only recently that some people have been against it and is mostly women being against doing it to their boys.

Most people general don't care what happens in third world countries. Many of our products are produced with damn near slave labor but nobody cares. If it were happening on a widespread basis in this country there would be much more outrage.

Just about everywhere I go, people don't really care when it is out of sight, though.

well while it's out of sight, it's not being dealt with - and yet it really needs international condemnation and a huge amount of cultural education to sop this happening.

There are charitable organisations doing their level best to stamp this practice out.

Who's for making a donation?

Would you say that if he had cut one of her breasts off and was now allowed to be on TV having a laugh about it?

What I'm saying is that a dreadful and revolting crime was actually turned around and he made a mint on the story. he became a highly-paid porn star. but the original crime is still despicable.

And I'm not laughing with Sharon Osborne or anyone else who makes a mockery out of something like this. My opinion on domestic violence is as strong against a female perpetrator as it is against a male. it's completely unacceptable, whatever the gender.

The sad reality is that things like this won't change until the culture changes or the women fight back. In this case I would be in favor of some penises being shot off if they attempt to do this to a woman. Much of the time though it is other women who do it to young girls and encourage it. I read an article the other day about a mother who killed her daughter because she dated a non muslim boy and they were seen kissing.

That's why I said it needs not only International condemnation but a massive amount of cultural education.

it's barbaric, abhorrent and just so revolting I gag thinking about it.

You're talking to the man who has donated more than just money.

We are off topic, though. Lets not detract from an issue that is becoming a problem in our societies.

Feelin Frisky

Yes. You're the only one.

But seriously folks, if it sticks out, it's got its range of vulnerabilities some of which have been the subject of humor since Lucy the Ape invented the blow job. Kicking a girl in her hole just doesn't seem like any kind of equivalent--least of all in the way of humor IMO. And you certainly can't cut a cunt off.:D

I'd like to watch but I have 1992 inter-webs; It takes 20 seconds for this page to load.

I will admit, during my days of regular T.V viewing, I was brainwashed to find a man being kicked in the groin comical. Now I've gained a little insight into equality and justice, as well as being on the receiving end of such comedy (Ouch), I realize that it's just not funny. I'm constantly flipping the genders when things like this occur and if I don't like it when the roles are reversed, then I'll cease to find humour or agree with the conventional.

In regards to Sharon Osbourne, I used to be neutral in what I thought of her. After seeing this though, I do feel strong disdain for her as a person and that's likely to be permanent now.
