I live on my own in a 4 bedroom house. 4 split levels. It's a lot of house for me, but I like it. While I have decent furniture in every room, I'm not much for decor. I can't see myself shopping for rugs and paintings and stuff. So you could call it spartan, but tasteful.
I've had a little system going for the past couple of months that has gotten my house clean. Every room. It's just a kick I'm on, although I'd like to keep it clean.
I think about bringing women over, and what they'd think walking through the door the first time. They might think I'm obsessive and they might be afraid to mess anything up (except, hopefully, the bed). I'd like to think they'd think I take care of myself and my stuff. But there's a line you cross where you become Monk, and I'm damn near there.
Just wondering what the women think of this. Maybe I should leave a few pairs of socks laying around or quit making my bed or something.

Dude...if your crib is too clean then women will think its strange. It needs to be a bit messy but not a pig sty. Women need to think you'll need them for something other than their orifices.
No sweat man. What i'm saying is that to get them into your bedroom its better that your crib in neither too clean or too dirty. Do you understand now?
I've seen a few too many films where the guy who has all his suits perfectly lined up in the closet and every sock folded impeccably turns out to be a control freak murderer. And yes, I know it's the movies but any sort of sign of controlling tendencies would have me running for the hills. It's a very short leap from controlling your environment to wanting to control the living beings in it, I figure.
Clean is good but a little clutter looks like you actually live there. If she sees you twitching because she didn't hang the dishtowel back up exactly two inches from the other one, you're toast.
Yeah, that's why I posted this thread. But I want to hear what women have to say. I'm sure some of the more experienced ones have some stories to tell.
Like I said, I can always throw a little dirty laundry around before I bring someone over. It'll bug me though...
hey, what's wrong with having a nice clean place? you are doing it so you feel comfortable there and especially if you don't care what the women you bring over think, as you only want to sleep with them, why not just please yourself and have your place as you like it.
I dont' mind a guy's nice clean place, but have been accused of the same thing as a woman (keep my place pretty neat), think it's a matter of personality as to what level of tolerance you have for messy-ness...hence who like messy, likes messy who doesn't ..well
