Kick myself into shape

I would consider my body type as average. I am not skinny but not fat. However, I am very cautious about my body image. 1) I have a twin. We are almost identical and are commonly comparing our weight. We are about to be separated for the first time ever when we leave for college in a couple of weeks. I am terrified of coming home to find that she is skinnier then me. 2) I work as a lifeguard. Our uniforms are two-piece suits and I am always feeling like my body is on display.

I have some problem areas that I want to start working on. I rarely ever workout and I eat terrible foods. I was wondering how I can be so cautious and concerned about my weight one minute and then stuffing my face the next minute. I want to kick my *** into shape. Any suggestions on how I can do this and fight the urges for bad foods?

You have to WANT health more than you want the bad foods. It's a question of delayed gratification. Can you handle not having the goodie RIGHT NOW in order to feel healthy and lithe and energetic or would you rather make your tongue happy? Because in the end, the only thing you please is your tongue when you eat junk - at the cost of punishing the rest of your body.

With a little effort and a little self-discipline, you can learn to love healthy foods that are good for you. After a point, you won't even enjoy the junk anymore. But you have to WANT it. Nothing else will help.

Haha. I don't think smoking and drinking coffee is the direction I want to take. I have heard of both things helping out weight loss but I don't think that using addictive stimulants is what I want to do.
