Checking in

This week will mark the 6 month anniversary of the breakup. In that time, beginning with the support I found here, I began to examine my life, myself and well, lots of stuff. It's all documented here.

I've made a lot of subtle changes.

Things I haven't done in over 6 months because of the association to the ex:

1) eat sushi
2) talk about horror movies
3) drink wine
4) listen to certain bands
5) had another woman in my bed

I've been seeing someone new for about 3 weeks. Someone I actually met before the ex - and there was interest, but it our schedules didn't work out - then I was off the market.

Things I have done in the last 3 weeks:

See above list.

I'm not over the ex. But I am moving on and it's fun. I'm happy. My work is through the roof and very exciting and I wish to share. If you want more info, PM me.

It all can and will happen for you, too. Look at prior posts to see how miserable I was.

It will get better.

Oh Fooled -

I am so happy to know that things are moving forward for you...

And yes! Any good things you want to share regarding your gal or work are only to make me more happy for your progress.

I am proud of you! You have come a long way!

Thanks for the post. I’m glad people return after they’ve healed some. When you’re feeling down, it helps to have a concrete example of someone who’s out the other side.

Adds some credibility to the little voice telling you it’s going to be okay.

Fooled,

Congrats! on the new venture -I took a peek at it during it's debut, and I think it's winner!

Amazing, isn't it, -how the attitude, goals, and scenery change after a few months?

And how that smile and that zest for life renews itself, and you find yourself enjoying life again?

Phenomenal.

A glint of hope for us who need it, thanks fooled. It's nice to hear good news from someone that helped me. Good luck to the future and always remember what you had learned, the lessons are invaluable.

I'd heard of similar stories to yours, but it's great to get some confirmation. Sounds like sushi really started off a chain reaction for you. I'm really intrigued by Japanese culture.

Phenomenal is the word! I hope everything continues to be good, and - perhaps most importantly - you don't let the residual feelings for your ex get in the way of fully exploring your budding relationship. Life is good!

Any particular kind of sushi?

Actually listening to certain bands was the first step - with this new girl. My ex would have hated them. New Girl adores them. That's a solid foundation. From there, just experiencing things I enjoyed doing with a new person disassociates them from the ex. The sushi dinner was the strangest. The ex and i went a lot - and the ordering and even the pace was different.

But new habits are good.

Strange thing is - she and the ex know each other. They're not friends, but they have spoken occasionally professionally. It's not a problem though.

The thing that really helped was when I realized I didn't want our old lifestyle anymore. I wanted more. Which led me to the renew my creativity with a passion I haven't felt in a while.

I'm still not quite "me" yet - but I'm awfully close to being me plus more.

And Hi, Rio! Thanks for checking out my baby.

You're welcome, my pleasure....and your 'baby' shows incredible writing skills, creativity, and talent.

Keep doing what you're doing, Fooled, both personally and professionally.

Plunging ahead and and becoming involved with new projects -and people- seems to be leading you, obviously, in the right direction.

Bravo!

(Smile)

Yours,
-Rio
