Jumping out of back pocket, but would like to know why?

Why would someone try to put you their back pocket? Give some insight into this kind of personality.

sometimes people want a backup up plan.. That way they don't have to feel lonely and also don't have to deal with being alone..

Some also have the plan so they can say to the other party who they are breaking up with that they are not hurt by it and are moving on.. they really do it to hurt the other person though
