You should have chosen a name which does not give any sort of clue about who you are ?

If you feel that your identity has been compromised then stop posting with this user name , contact the moderators and get the user name deleted. Next time chose one user name which is not known to anyone.

I feel emails and stuff like that are way too personal to be revealed to your gf, you never know when a 'GF' is going to dump you.

P.S.

Even if the mods change your username, if someone types in your OLD screenname, the new username will pop up in the results.

It's a b*tch

Don't include the @xxx.com when you do a search. Just do one on griftymcgriff. Contact the mods to change your screen name, or just start all over like horn boy suggested.

And then you post your email. Brilliant.

LOL

I was just thinking the same thing Pocky.

Now, if they DO type in your email it will most certainly show this thread in the results.

He should delete his mail id as quickly as he can, by now Google would not have crawled this page.

Secondly if he gets the old screename deleted then it will not come in google search (might be in cache though!)

Oh I'm sure his email address will get deleted by the mods. That shouldn't be a prob. It might need to be reported, but they'll tear atleast that off.

Think again!

I used to have the username "YX32Nemesis" and when I do a search on that sn...it will show XNemesisX in the results.

**this happens when you don't get a new account name, just change your old username into a new one on that old account, you can see how my registered date is still aug 2003 (from YX32Nemesis, when I had my name changed to XNemesisX in april or may 2005).**

I Know you are yx32 cause you were one of the first posters to reply to my thread when I came on LS. For the reason you mentioed I asked the OP to get his user name deleted and then create a new account, that way there will be no link between the old and the new user name.

Do you remember Llama ? Search for her user name and you will not get her screen name ?

BTW I miss Llama , hope she is doing well.

Thumbs up

Well....

This happened to me too - and I requested that my screen name be changed. But like you said - I kept checking in google and some threads would still show up. But I just tried again (maybe 2 months after the change) and now they're gone!!

So, to conclude: have the moderator change your screen name, and all evidence of your old one should be gone in a couple months!
