Everything was fine a couple weeks ago, then "BOOM" it's back growing like a weed. The doc called a little while ago with my test results. He also wants me to see the cardiologist because he doesn't know if my heart is healthy enough to undergo aggressive cancer treatment! I'm too young for this crap!!!
I've still got three more payments on my "final arrangements" -- don't want hubby to have to screw with this after I'm gone---all he will have to do is make a phone call, the rest will be taken care of.
Later...... the phone rang while I was typing this. An engineering company who is familiar with my work has an opening and would like to interview with me. (they sought me out after talking with some people I have worked with in the past and some of my current vendors) The pay is great (more than I'm making now) and super benefits. They don't know I have cancer!
I am so sorry. I hate cancer. I can't even begin to explain how much I hate it. It is a monster that has taken so many of my family members, took a bite out of me, but thankfully, so far, it didn't like the taste of me, and hasn't been back to visit.
You are in my thoughts, hun. Whatever our disagreements on issues, I can respect you because you stand up for what you believe in. Take care.
don't know you ... but am familiar with the disease
Am new here. But, want to send my hugs too. My mom had breast cancer.

Hokey, I'm so sorry to hear this latest news. I know you'll fight this. You're a feisty woman!
Good news about the possible engineering job. I suspect you're not going to share your latest cancer diagnosis with your prospective employer. If you do, however, and you don't get an offer, this employer may have violated the Americans with Disabilities Act. The ADA is a federal statute, which prohibits employment discrimination on account of disability.
Good luck in the interview, and in your treatment.
Hokey that's such bad news . Life is so unfair at times.
You are one of life's survivors, you've overcome so much. That resilience and fighting spirit will stand you in good stead now. We'll all be thinking of you, wishing you well again.
Then again, I doubt cancer has a chance against you - you are one formidable opponent. I think them bad cells will soon be dying off, unable to live in a hostile environment
People beat cancer all the time, Hoke. You can, too!
hokey,
my heart goes out to you. i had a bilateral mastectomy almost 5 years ago and live in constant fear of hearing the news you heard. and i can only imagine how you're feeling. i'm so, so sorry!! there are very few things that leave me at a loss for words but your story is one of them.
don't give up hope, it seems like every day they're finding new ways to fight this. i hope you're located somewhere where they can do everything possible for you.
from your other posts that i've read, i get the impression that you're a fighter. please know that we're all here. and pamper yourself as much as you can!

(((Hokey)))
Keeping you in my thoughts.. you're such a strong, gracious person Hokey.
I admire your will and drive.. you've yet to let anything keep you down, and i've no doubt you will not allow this to hold you back.

I have a friend who applied for and started a fabulous new job while she was undergoing chemotherapy. She said she knew it sounded crazy to add the stress of a new job but it made her truly happy, I'd like to think it helped speed her recovery. I'm hoping the same for you Hokey.
I'm OK -- a bit concerned about my husband though. Its much MUCH harder on him than on me. He lost his dad last month to cancer.
I have not decided what I'm going to do yet. I'll tell 'ya one thing though, if we decide that there is no hope I'm going to sit outside with a whiskey sour in one hand and a cigarette in the other, listening to good old rock and roll music and laughing at my puppy dogs & throwing toys for them and giving them kisses -- watching my husband do the same--- and that's how I want to exit the planet!
