Unhappy please respond ...Need HELP!!!! (kinda long)

ok, We've been married for 5 months now and we love to travel. Well, unfortunately, because of my visa i can't go to canada and spend xmas with my family as planned, and so his entire family is flying in to town (just like last year) and we're spending xmas with them all. (i have accepted this, as my family can't make it down). Anyways, his bro is graduating a week before xmas in FLA and we (aswell as his fam) are all going down....except we are driving cause we planned to go to Disney world for 2 days then come back home after his grad....
His mother announced to me that she, her mother, her other daughter (18) are coming with us for the drive back...i asked her if she told my husband/her son and she said no and "how else were we supposed to get back from FLA to atl?"
so i told my hubby and he was mad....no one told him/asked. So even though i am mad i am thinking of being a good daughter in law and suggesting to postpone the disney trip for another time (even though i know he works shift and its next to impossible for him to get time off).....but....at the same time i don't want his mom to make these announcements a habit....
WHAT DO I do? Do i put my foot down and say they canwait in FLA till we get back and then they can come? or what?
Please help!!!!

It's your husband's mother - let him deal with her.

Tell him you would rather have the two days at Disney & he has to decide if he wants to do that or drive his family back.

(the next time just say the two of have already made plans & that she should talk to her son)

how inconsiderate of her! for the sake of your husband i would bite my tongue and see what he does with it.....If he wont handle it ask him how he feels if you play the bad guy and tactfully tell mom that she wasn't included in the plans you already made.....mother-in-laws..........Gene Hackman's advice in Runaway Jury "better an unhappy mom than an unhappy wife"

i totally agree with melnmojave.. the saying that gene hackman said better an unhappy mom than an unhappy wife.. you go without the inlaws .. inlaws can cause a lot of problems stand up and let them know its your vacation... i have problems with my inlaws they don't like me and tries to get all up in our buisness all the time... good luck stand your ground and do what you believe is right

Your mother in law has no right making plans WITH you without asking you.

What I would do: have your husband contact her (it IS his mother), tell her that you two already made plans, ask that she consider the plans you made as HUSBAND and WIFE as legitimate (you are his new family), and offer to drive them back when you plan to return (but they'll have to cool their jets in a hotel while you two have fun). Maybe they'll realize the price of the hotel is probably enough to fly back to Atlanta early. Or they could rent a car?

Don't set the precedent of canceling trips to meet someone else's needs/desires. (especially a mother in law)
