I am not the type of girl to usually call a guy when he gives me his number.... i think it should be the other way around (yeah, call me old fashioned.) And he has my number (my friend gave it to him). But when we saw each other last night, he gave me his number. Should i call him? I mean why wouldn't he call me if he had my number?

Because your friend gave it to him. For all he knows it could be anybody's number. Now if YOU gave your number to him then he would have probably called.
