why are husbands so inconsiderate of us?

hey all i have a question...
why is it that when we ask our husbands to do something for us they act like they don't give a rats ass .. here is my thing i told h that my service engine light came on and he acted like he didn't care at all...he fixes everybody elses car all the time but when it comes to mine he won't give me the time of day.. he is suppose to have my car painted and get the dings and knick out and he is yet to do this.. he always jumps when his parent ask him to but if i ask him to do anything or spend time with me and daughter he acts like it is a chore .. am i stupid for staying with this current situation or is it just men.. sometimes i feel that he wants my car to break down so i can't go anywhere or do anything .. it seems he gets mad when i go places and do things .. he is hardly here and when he is acts if though its a bother to be with us or so seems .. he is in a band and is working on a old chevelle and restoring it .. he has alot of hobbies and little time for us.. all replys will greatly appreciated.. i don't have a problem with him having hobbies but it seems these are his priorities first.. don't get me wrong hes a good provider and a good father he just thinks that us being married and him working is enough i don't think so ... thanks

Wow have you tried talking to him about this? If you did and he doesn't listen, then in my opinion he is a jerk. All husbands aren't like that. My dad will fix my mom's car as soon as she tells him something is wrong with it.

Well I was married once, although it wasn't much of a marriage, not my fault(I know what you are thinking, all guys say that)but it wasn't, and that's a long story in itself, but the last relationship I was in, we might as well have been married. I tryed to do everything she asked of me. I'm not good mechanically, but if she had a problem, I'd try to fix it, or find a friend that could. I stayed home with our son while she went out, I'd want to spend time with her, and even went to a club with her to be with her, but it just wasn't my thing. I would clean the house, and even sign my check and let her hold the cash, cuz I'm horrible spending money, she was so much better, but not many men will do that, but anyway, look where it got me, now she's gone, said she wasn't happy, and we are fighting about our son. So to answer your question, no it's not just a man thing, talk with him, if you already have, well then it's time to decide if you really want this for the rest of your life.

Has he always been like this, or is this something he just started, as far as him putting others before you and your family? If he has always been like this, I'm not sure why you're still with him. You stated he is a good father and provider, he can still be that, doesn't mean you all have to be together, if its something you're getting tired of. Hope all works out.
