You don't do it; you go get it done at a body piercing shop. Where conditions are sterile... the piercer should take the needle out of the package and put in a piece of your choice.

What do you guys think, am I too old? =(

I'm 16, and pierced my nose myself... I have a little silver ball in it. It's a cute piercing, and in my opinion looks good on older women as well. It's another way of expressing yourself, you're not too old 4 that! I admire that you want a nose piercing beings that most people your age think it's a "fad." Good luck!

Wink Nose Piercing

Greetings,

Well I just turned 54 years *young* and I had my nose pierced on my birthday

Very happy about/with it I had it done with a Needle by a pro and things were OK but after two weeks I got tired of the *screw* that was in and tried to change it. What a mistake!!

I had been to Wal-Mart and saw these *cute* little screws that looked so much better than my original piercing jewelry *oh boy was that a joke

As it were I wound up not being able to get the new one in *or the old one back in* but thank the God/dess my hubby had bought me a 16 Gauge 14k nickel free *Star* but it was not bent, rather a straight gold *pin*.

I had to go around all night until noon the next day when the piercing shop opened looking like I had a bone in my nose as it looked so long

When the piercing shop opened they bent my gold star and the piercing was quite swollen for a few days but now that has been over a week and things are once again starting to look better

Can hardly wait until I am healed all the way as I am going to be *bold* and put a 22-24k Stud with a Dangle in it.

Don't do it yourself people the hole won't be big enough to accommodate much of a selection in jewelry.

Blessed Be & Live Free

"Your only as old as you feel"~

nose piercing

tagging on to the nose piercing subject, I got mine done two and half weeks ago. It hurt, but it only hurt for about a minute. Once the needle was in it quit hurting. It hurt a bit on the way out, too, but then it wasn't even sore. I do have that ever unpopular "bump" you hear about, but I'm following the guidelines for care of it. I LOVE my piercing. I think it looks so good. I have a pink square stud. (Since I was pierced in October I got pink in honor of breast cancer awareness month.) You'll love it. It's the prettiest place to be pierced!

nose studs

i have 11 piercings and i have to say that my nose is my absolute FAVORITE! i suggest anyone who wants to get it done, do it. i work as a teaching assisntant in the fall and spring and a field biologist in the summers. it never gets in the way and attracts good comments from everyone.

you are not too old to get it done. in fact, i think it's so awesome if someone around the age of my parents or even older gets it done, it shows that it's just a fun and safe way to express yourself. remember it's NOT something permanent like a tattoo, and you can change it after it heals to fit whatever mood you're in.

make sure you find a good piercing place (i.e. sterile, safe, professional...) and GOOD LUCK! you will love it, i guarantee it. i have many what would be considered 'contemporary' piercings, yet this tradtionally Indian piercing is my favorite by far! post pics!!
