CHICAGO, Nov. 12 (AScribe Newswire) -- Researchers at the University of Chicago have shown for the first time that strong sexual orientation among men appears to be connected with brain metabolism. The results of their study are reported in a paper to be presented Nov. 12 at the annual Society for Neuroscience conference in New Orleans.
In the paper, the researchers report on a study that shows differences between exclusively homosexual and exclusively heterosexual men in glucose metabolism in the hypothalamus and other brain areas following the administration of fluoxetine, a drug commonly called Prozac.

Just curious, is brain metabolism something your born with, and unchangeable? Either way, it's interesting. For the record, I've never taken a stance on my thoughts about this, I just objected to the minimalizations of other people's thoughts.
I guess the next step is for the Radical Christian Fundamentalists to start researching how the brain can be tested in infancy and altered if necessary to make everyone heterosexual.
What about women's brains? I guess no one can figure those out! LOL
i am pleased that they are starting to find evidence that some people just "are" gay as opposed to choosing it. i think having facts to back up that homosexuality is not a choice can only help with gay rights and tolerance.
on the other hand, i am ambivalent about scientists finding the "cause" of homosexuality. if they can find a cause then they can find a "cure". ask most practicing homosexuals whether they are interested in being turned straight by a prescription and/or a couple slices of the scalpel and most would likely say no. however, there was a window in my teenage years where i was miserable and asking "why me?" that i would have gladly taken treatment. but now that i am at peace with myself, my friends, and my family i have no interest in any sort of therapy other than a glass of wine, maybe some massage oils & candles, and a pair of male arms to wrap around me.
