Anyone other than me finding the new page numbers wonky to deal with? The Ryan thong thread would not go to p. 3 for me and that's happened with few other threads.
I tried to reproduce it but it wouldn't work. I went to 'the list' from the 'What's New' page, went to 'go to first unread post' and it took me to the bottom of p. 2 but the arrow to the next page (p.3 didn't show) wouldn't work. This time it did. I'll try to send you a link right away next time it happens.

Ahh.. I think I know what the problem is. The ">" button simply takes you to the next page (It was always like that, just didn't have the box surrounding it). If you're on the last page, the ">" will disappear (since there isn't a next page). Try it on a thread with a lot of replies.
If you hover your mouse over the ">" or "<" it will tell you what the button is for. Perhaps a different symbol or word would be more appropriate, but I'm fresh out of ideas.
I always found the text-only page numbers very difficult to use and the surrounding boxes, in my opinion, make them much easier to click on.

How's about 'click here and try to guess where you'll end up'?
Correction on the thread/page numbers, etc. The bottom numbers aren't keeping up, either. I try to get to the newest post on the thread, I click on the > or the >> or whatever's available and it will get me to a middle page and then I have to go to the bottom again where the rest of the pages appear.
I'm sure this is a coding labyrinth for you, Paul, so don't take this as griping - just info for you. I imagine it's quite the headache to get working perfectly, especially on very busy threads.

The change involving page numbers was strictly cosmetic and didn't involve any modification of the actual code, only the forum's style-sheets. Any behavior your noticing now would have been the same before the change was made. We just painted it a different color.
The "last unread post" link will take you to the first post made after your last activity timestamp. This is a special value the forum stores every time you "do something" on the site. For example, navigate to another page, log in, log out, check your PMs, etc. It does not actually keep records of the actual posts you've viewed (in fact, since multiple posts are displayed per page, it would be impossible to do so automatically).
If the newest post in a particular thread happens to be on the next page of posts, clicking that link will automatically advance you to the appropriate page. This might be where you're noticing a difference in page numbers. It happens fairly quickly.

I, as well as the rest of the development team, appreciate all the feedback you can throw at us. However we haven't seen any pagination issues whatsoever thus far. Me-thinks the purty colors have you all confused.
Paul - gotcha. Not so much confused by the colours (actually, I am not at all fond of any sort of pink) but rather that I've been checking back on active threads more often. Dagnab interesting discussions.
Quank, my ex used to (God love him!) get a catalogue from International Male. They have a fine selection of thongs for men - and models to - ah - model them. And that thought ought to take you right through the week
