What is the meaning of each envelope next to the posts??

The envelopes next to each thread are a quick way to see the status of a particular thread without having to click on it. There is a key at the bottom of the forum pages that explains what each variation of the envelope means. It may indicate whether the thread has new posts, whether many people have viewed the thread, whether many people have responded to the thread, or whether the thread is open or closed.

If there is a black dot on the envelope, that means you've participated in that thread by either starting it or posting a response.
