My son is 4 months old, and I'm blessed enough to be able to leave him in the care of my mother in law while my husband and I go to work during the week.

I'm having an extremely hard time not being with him at this point. At the beginning when I returned to work, it was hard as well, but at the same time I was happy to get back and interact with adults again. I feel like I completely regressed. Some days are so much harder than others. Like today. I just can't keep the tears away. I cn't look at him or think about him, or I'm an emotional train wreck. It hurts so bad I feel like just getting up from my desk and going home. I wish I didn't need my job as much as I do. It's the worst heartache I've ever experience. Ever. No wonder European countries don't force the mothers back to work so quickly.

Is anyone else going through this? If so, how do you manage to deal with the pain?

My wife went through this several years ago. She never told me in great detail how she felt but several years later we talked about it.

Can you see your son during lunch breaks ?

Did you talk to your husband about how you feel ?

Ask your husband if he can bring the baby to work once in a while. Ofcourse make sure you take proper precautions. I did that few times, my wife loved it.
