I've sent about 5 mails through the 'contact us' button in the last 2 weeks and received no response at all!
Its in relation to a name change, now I see conflicting statements in two different sections of this site.
In the FAQs it says that under special circumstances mods
will change your user name.
In this section of the forum, mods are saying they
wont change a name or delete threads etc.
I'd really like to know which is which.
TBH i dont see the harm in granting someone's request for a name change if they have good reason.
I've read in the privacy section that admin wants to help protect the privacy of its members, but it seems they wont do anything to help if the member feels their privacy may have been compromised, rather, it is the fault of the member if they have either
1) chosen a name which means someone they know could guess it was them, or
2) have written things which they dont want people who they know personally to read.
obviously, no-one would come here writing things which are mostly likely to be things they dont want the other people in their lives to know, otherwise they wouldnt be coming here to talk about them.
So really, i'd just like my question to be cleared up as to whether or not a name change would ever be granted, and also, if not, the reason why that request would never be granted?
