My ex husband (we just divorced) has a bad pain pill addiction. He says that he is recovered, but his family doesn't see a change. He told me that he went to see someone who gave him pills (or something similar) that makes him either not want the pain pills or makes the pain pills not work. My first question is that does something like that even exist. He was never in a program. He just said he saw a therapist.

Also,
I am worried about him because he recently started dating a "friend" that used to give and/or sell him the pills. He claims they are both clean now but I have my doubts.

I am clueless when it comes to drug addictions, my vice is food. So can anyone help me understand?
