This Saturday, there is gonna be a small get-together and i'm being specially invited by my friends. Now, i KNOW 100 percent that my ex-girlfriend is going to be there with her new boyfriend..
Just wanted to know, how do i respond..I mean, if she tries and talk to me, do i politely say "hello" and move on or do i totally ignore/avoid them or something else?
Kindly give your suggestions for the same, i could really use some..
Your mile long depression post tells me that maybe you should conveniently be unavailable for this get together.
Is it important enough to bear seeing your ex with her new beau? Do your friends know that it will suck ass to see her and the new guy?
Just some thoughts.
Its not "neccessary" to be available, but what the heck..Its been many days since i met my friends and had fun in general..I have decided to go; lets see what happens..
On the contrary i don't feel "depressed", its just that i don't still know what should i say if she tries to talk to me, although it would be way better if she stays with her new guy and don't even try to talk to me..
bad idea. you won't be able to enjoy yourself because you will obsess over her. You will always look for her, check out the dude, see how she's acting. It will be very uncomfortable. I have read your posts, ALL OF THEM, and you're just not ready.

Dude...you are totally not ready to see her...let alone her and the boyfriend.
What if they started to make out in front of you?
What if the boyfriend comes up to you with a s hit eating grin and says..."I'm hitting that"
It's going to be so awkward and you'll feel like crap afterwards...and most likely more hurt.
...awww...what the hell go for it. Maybe it'll be good for you. Get really drunk and let your anger out without remorse....just blow it up. Make sure they feel your wrath....RELEASE THE HOUNDS!!!

1. take along a hot friend
2. cancell saying you on dirty weekend
i know if it was me i wouldnt go.. unless i had a hot date to distract me
why risk getting hurt again?
i dont see what the big problem is. i would go and have a good time with your friends. i woudnt talk to your ex unless she came up to you and said something. Just ignore her and if her new bf trying to do that stupid staring you down thing just look back and say hey man been there done that. Go have fun with your friends. i swear if you show up and look miserable girls feed off of that stuff and it just boosts their ego beause she will think that you still want her. Dont give her the satisfaction.

Wow! That's some positive attitude..Thanks timmay.. Feels good..
I'm not a big fan of running and hiding. buddy if you can truthfully say that you'll go have fun and not let her get to you(good chance they will), then by all means go for it,and have a blast.
If she says "hi," say hi back and then politely excuse yourself because you're there for your other friends and not to her. She should be with the new guy in her life anyway.
It's all good. Let us know how it goes.
Echoing user timmay here: Don't give her the satisfaction! If it still hurts, fake it 'til you make it! She doesn't deserve the ego boost she'll get by showing her that you miss her. Indifference, indifference.

Absolutely! I get what you say...Thanks for that valuable input.
First and foremost, i am going there for my friends and NOT for her..I got to know later that she will be there as well, but what the hell..Let her do whatever she wants to, the main thing is she is out of my life..She has chosen her path..
ugh, I don't think going would be a good idea. You're going to be checking them out all night.. You'd be lying to yourself if you deny that.
I see this party being more of a harmful event rather than something you'll enjoy. You are not over your ex, so do you really think you'll go to that party and not look at the two of them together?? And if you don't look at them together, it's because you're putting effort into not looking!
What if she comes up to you and starts talking?? You're gonna come on here and tell us that you're hurt cause she'll be acting all happy without you. And if she ignores you, you'll come on here and ask how she can be so cruel..how can she ignore you... I just see this as a lose/lose situation.
Heya... pretty sure I will be in the same situation soon as well.
My advice? Don't even think about your ex being there, she ain't a part of your life anymore and she should make zero impact on it.
If she is there then just treat her as you would anyone other casual acquaintance you might meet while you're out having a good time with your friends. The important thing to remember is that YOU control your own emotional state and how you feel and react are within your own realm of influence.
She may speak to you. She may not. She may be there with someone else. She may be alone. In the end it shouldn't concern you... at all... in the least.
And remember; your indifference isn't a device to show her that you don't care - it's simply the reaction you would have to something that doesn't bother you.
Good luck man. Go have fun with your friends and keep moving on.
