Lost interest in food

Lately I have lost total interest in food. Been through quite a bit of stress. I am normally thin and am concerned about the loss of vitality I feel. I cook for on average 7 people every afternoon and again every evening. I am so sick of looking at food, I don't enjoy the way it smells, looks, it tastes ok since everyone eats and generaly likes it. I try to include all the food groups and my kids eat all the healthy stuff they should. I have totally stopped making lunches for school for the last year now (my mom does this for the kids and my husband - she lives with us) I am sensitive to some foods, allergic to shellfish and very intollerant of yeast and recently also dairy!

I look in books for inspiration but there are so many ingredients that are just not obtainable or affordable in South Africa. Or there are JUST SO MANY INGREDIENTS! I used to take supplements, now just go on supplement courses (due to apparent damage to Kidneys etc. )

I am also still breastfeeding my youngest of 4 (14 months) and take calcium/magnesium. I would like a good tasting tonic that actually works (with no caffine, stimulants or strange sounding mushrooms on the ingredients list) most pep ups tend to make me really shaky and I feel light headed.

What is easy, tasty, looks good, that kids like and does not contain: breads, dairy or shellfish.

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY ADVICE.

Try a broccoli stirfry of some kind. It's very high in nutrients and even contains protein. Just make certain you don't overcook it and it's all good.

Do take care of yourself. Eat, even if you don't feel like it.

It appears that you are stressed and disinterested in food.

Do eat something even if it s grazing through the day. Not good to not eat a thing and then gorge later.

It sounds like: you are losing your appetite and also are confronted with low energy levels. These two things can be symptoms of a depressive episode. Perhaps you should talk to your doctor, to make sure there isn't something serious going on.

I am trying to remember what foods I enjoyed as a kid, and they all mostly involved dairy or breads. I remember really loving anything that came in the form of a casserole. My favorite was shepperd's pie: ground beed (tossed with oignons and pepers), topped with canned corn, topped with mashed potatoes. (Which we would eat with ketchup and that I now serve with a side salad when I make it).
