Well I've always wanted to travel the world. So I decided this was the summer I would do it. Planning on taking a trip this summer. Alot of my friends are going to Italy. But I was thinking about either doing the Netherlands, Germany, and Fance or just going to Iceland. If any one wants to give me their expeirences, advice or sugestions that would be cool
I haven't been anywhere except Mexico and the Dominican Republic. I'd like to travel but I don't think my desire is as strong as other people's - perhaps because I am an immigrant and I moved around a lot when I was little.
The concept of "finding" myself somewhere else eludes me. My search involves making roots.
I think alot of the reason I want to travel is because I need something fun to look foward to. And I also need something to brag about and some cool pictures. I'd definatly buy a new camera before going where ever I go. I'll probably make Amsterdam HQ and take a few trips into france and germany
hi, i'm from singapore and i've been to many places.. malaysia, hongkong, japan, korea, australia, new zealand, many parts of the USA, amsterdam, germany, switzerland, UK, france...
travelling is so much fun! amsterdam is really really cool with its picturesque setting, red light district and fun culture so it's a to-go! i like it a bit more than paris and germany, plus it's much more economical in amsterdam.
haven't been to iceland, YET. i'm only 18 so ive got a long way more to go, more countries to go to stay.
I have been to Iceland, and it is AWESOME. I have done alot of travelling, have been to all the other places on your list, and they are pretty cool too.
KMT, you can fly with Iceland air from New York to London via Reyjkavik (sp?) so you could incorporate that into your trip.
My top five places to go are
Jordan
Morocco
Iceland
NYC (you used to live there, so..)
Carcassonne in the South of France.
OP, if you truly want to travel "the world", I have one word...
FlyerTalk....
You'll make friends with people in many countries (I mean real life friends), find inexpensive ways to get and stay where you want to go, and broaden your cultural horizons. Take it from someone who does things like flying to Australia for a day
Wow...so Amsterdam is great. Oh there are so many places! You need to see Italy....the Amalfi Coast (on a scooter), and Rome! Oh, going to those places for the first time...is so wonderful.
Prague is awesome, and extremely cheap! Great beer and gorgious girls.
For Germany, Berlin and Munich are great. Strasbourg has a nice flair, plus you could catch a highspeed train from Paris to Strasbourg and from there to Munich. From Berlin there is a train connection to Prague etc.
If you have time, going by train is great, you will see so much and really get a feel for the countries. Maybe an interrail ticket would be good?
Iceland, I hear, is quite fascinating. Never been there, yet.
Hospitality Club is a great thing, and very popular in Europe!
I have a saying that I just started, girls who enjoy the red light district are fun, hookers, or both. As far as tagging along goes, I definitely didn’t want to travel alone, one of my friends who got me excited about the trip should be coming with me if he can raise the money in the next month or so. I wouldn’t be leaving for another 3 months or so. I did want to see Morocco but my friend was against it. I’m just not sure how large to make the scope of this trip. I’d really like to do it under 5k, actually if I could keep it under 2k that would be even better but then I’d only be able to see like one or two places for a short time. I’ll check out flyer talk sounds good. Prague being extremely cheap with Great beer and gorgious girls is defiantly something I should be thinking about.
