My daughter-in-law was induced about 4 hours ago. Contractions are about 2 minutes apart, and she's dilated to 4. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THAT BABY TO GET HERE!!!!!
I'm wondering if I should just be with her right now. Her mom has had psychological problems but was doing good as of late. However, my DIL just told me yesterday she's been drinking again and she wasn't feeling good about calling her. I'm very close to her - she's a wonderful girl. I think it helps to have another woman there - someone who's been through it and can empathize, ya know? My son is there with her though. What do you think? I would call her first, of course, but I don't want her to feel like I'm interfering in their moment.
You could call your Son and ask him.. but honestly if he is there then she is going to be just fine...
My wife and I were the only ones in there at the time and it was fine...
Call him and find out how she is holding up and then offer to come up and be her support.. see what he says...
Well???? How did it go? Are you a grandmother to a little boy or girl??? Fill us in.
Awwww, thanks for asking!
My grand daughter was born May 1st weighing in at 7 lbs 0.7 oz. She's absolutely beautiful! Perfectly shaped little head and beautiful skin. She has her mother's gorgeous mouth and cute little dimples, and she has her daddy's (my son's) nose. Not sure about the eyes yet. I'm thinking my son's as well. She definitely has my boy's appetite! lol
She's just a sweet, perfect little angel! But just wait two years. That'll alllll change! LMAO
How cool! Did you end up going to the birth or did you just wait for the call?
Personally I want other women who have been through it with me at my birth.
I was at the hospital, along with the other grandma and a couple close friends. When it was time, we were all standing in the room but outside of the privacy curtain. No one was saying anything, so I addressed my son's fiance: "Hon, are we okay here, or would you like us out?" There was a pause, and then she very politely said, "Ummm.... out please." lol
So we were all outside, then we got word that the doctor got called away to another woman's emergency c-section. So here's my poor baby's mama crowning, and then being told she has to wait. It took at least 20 minutes for them to round up another doctor, and once he got there and in the room, it went pretty quickly. We were hovering outside the door like vultures! I heard the doctor tell her, "One more big push now, and you'll be done!" Then the obvious sounds of my baby's mama trying reallllly hard, and then my boy said, "There she is!" in this excited, happy, tearful voice!!! It brought me RIGHT back to the moments that my children were born, and I just started bawling! Just hearing the emotion in his voice was an incredible moment for me.
