Tired of the snow in my head!

OK, not to be gross, but for awhile now I have had some dandruff, nothing major, but some. I have used tea tree shampoos like people have suggested, and I really can not tell a big difference.

However, I have noticed too besides the dandruff, that there are certain kinds of hair products such as gels or hairsprays that make it even more "snowy" like.

I was brushing my hair earlier today and was going to put it up in ponytail for my workout. I looked in the mirror and it was awful! I really think its like some kind of build up from certain products, even though I wash my hair.

So my question is, does anyone have any suggestions for something for me to try to help with the build up? And.....are there any products someone can recommened that doesn't produce all that build up of flakes etc.

Head and Shoulders cured my problem.

Its weird but the brand suave drys out my scalp. Whether its shampoo, conditioner, or anything else, it does that to me.

Speaking of Suave that is the hair spray I have been using over the past few days, and I truly think that is one of the causes. I wont be using it anymore. I just really noticed it today.

I have tried Head and Shoulders too. It might be something I have to get checked out at the dermo doctor. A friend of mine told me, she read somewhere alot of dandruff could be due to over production of yeast in the body. But this other mess is coming from hair products.

Thats funny that suave has the same effect on you. Stop using suave products all together and see if it makes a difference.

I plan too. Its not just Suave though there are some other products that do the same thing. Thats why I was wondering if anyone had used or tried anything that didn't have so much of a build up. I know hair products are going to have some build up, but the things I have tried lately is just ridiculas.

It's probably not dandruff at all, probably all product buildup.

My stylist suggested taking a fine tooth comb and running it along your scalp a few times before you wash your hair. You'll see a lot of this stuff coming off. Then washing your hair with a clarifying shampoo at least once a week. If you use a lot of products or even just use one or two daily you may want to do this more often.

Even just switching your shampoo can help. Shampoos and conditioners also cause buildup in your hair.

Oh, and make sure you're massaging your scalp when you wash your hair, and make sure you're rinsing well. Try not to use more conditioner than you need.
