Wearing heels to appear taller

The ten commandments states that you shall not lie.

I don't like my current height and I secretly put 2-3 tissue packs each in my shoe so that I can appear 2 inches taller than I am now.

Would this be considered as a lie?

Look at it this way. If what you do is a sin, there isn't one other person on this planet that doesn't sin. All you have to do is put on some clothing, that enhances you, like a suit, and it pretty much equates to the same thing.

Have you considered something more orthodic-friendly?

If you wear a prosthetic leg and long pants over it, are you lying?

If you wear a hat to cover your bald spot are you lying?

Do people actually sit awake at night wondering about such inanity? I mean come on....

Unless this is a POE, in which case good show!

Two packs of tissues is fine, according to scripture, but three packs is a visa to hell.

If you stole the shoes or the tissues, yes you would have sinned.

But walking on tissues and shoes, per se, is not a sin.

Do people who hunch when they walk lie? People who stand in holes? People who stuff their bras with tissues?

I think not, therefore I am not.

A Catholic? A Baptist? A Presbyterian? An Anabaptist? A Methodist? Anglican?

Which type of Christian would you listen to, and which wouldn't you?

What do YOU think? Why listen to someone else? Why not pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance?

I think that it is definitely lying. God made you the way that you are and by putting tissue in your shoes you are saying that you do not like what God creates--beyond the fact that it is a sin to lie to other people. God created you short because He wanted you to be short! How dare you defy Him! It's obvious that you are offending God, and he WILL punish you for this transgression. Believe it. Stop this Satanic activity IMMEDIATELY and pray for forgiveness!

Hopefully God's retribution will be slight and you'll just get boils, or your hair will fall out, or someone in your family will get sick. Be on the look-out. At this point, again, all you can do is pray! Pray! Pray for forgiveness, the power to walk away from the tissue and never go back! In His Mighty Name!

a lie to others? I'm guessing not, but even if it were, it'd be a much less pressing matter than not loving yourself enough to accept the gift of who you are that God has created.

OP, as your title and post reference completely different things, any answer would be inaccurate since the hypothetical is a conundrum.

With either, the operative question to ask, IMO, is who is hurt by the act or omission? As a good Christian would not judge or otherwise analyze a fellow human being by their height, the perception would therefore be irrelevant, as each individual should be accepted and loved for their existence, so no deception is perceived, so no lie exists.

Oy, too many years of Catholic school
